The album received a GRAMMY® nomination in the category of “Best Rap Album.” “Hypnotize” earned a GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Rap Solo Performance,” and “Mo Money Mo Problems” was nominated for “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.” Among dozens of lists and retrospectives, Rolling Stone touted Life After Death among its coveted “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” The RIAA has awarded the album a Diamond Certification for more than 5 million copies sold of the double-LP.

From long form to short form: that seems to be the voyage Jean-Nicolas Diatkine leads us in his new CD, from Sonata no.3 to the 24 Preludes. Yet this impression is partially deceptive. Granted, these preludes are miniatures, however they also form a whole twice as long as the sonata, when considered in their totality.

"For me Bach's B minor Mass is the greatest and the most unique music ever written", said Otto Klemperer. He first conducted the work in Berlin in 1932, using smaller forces than had become customary, applying objectivity and a deep respect for Bach's architecture. When he came to make this recording in 1967, he remained true to his principles, producing an interpretation of radiance, nobility and emotional intensity.

Très jeune, à 16 ans, il est altiste de l’orchestre Blüthner avant d’entrer au Philharmonique de Berlin jusqu’à sa rencontre avec Arnold Schönberg, auprès duquel il fait ses premières armes de chef d’orchestre lors des répétitions du Pierrot lunaire en 1912.
