A Few Stars Apart, the new album from Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, was recorded over 3 immersive weeks and the upshot is unmistakable: a sound that’s considered, spacious, and beautifully lush. With Dave Cobb’s masterful production, every note is in service of the song. A testament to finding a human connection: between close family and friends as well as one’s own heart. These 11 songs reveal what it means to come home again, to be still, and to find community and yourself.

Despite the pessimistic title, all of the members of this particular quartet (vibraphonist Milt Jackson, pianist Oscar Peterson, bassist Ray Brown and drummer Grady Tate) were still active into the mid-'90s. The music is unsurprising but still quite enjoyable and virtuosic as Bags and Co. perform blues, standards and ballads with their usual swing and bop-based creativity. Highlights include the title cut, "Stuffy," "What Am I Here For" and a vibes-piano duo version of "A Time for Love."

'Few Lines in Archaic Ukrainian' collects the cold majesty of DRUDKH's 2015-2017 split album output into a single compendium. The set includes their tracks, six in total, from splits with HADES ALMIGHTY, GRIFT, and PAYSAGE D'HIVER and represents the first time many appear on a format outside of vinyl. 'Few Lines in Archaic Ukrainian' is yet another noteworthy marker in the journey of one of black metal's most crucial champions.
