Hans Florian Zimmer is a German film score composer and record producer. Zimmer’s works are notable for integrating electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. Since the 1980s, he has composed music for over 150 films. His works include The Lion King, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score in 1995, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Interstellar, Gladiator, Crimson Tide, Inception, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight Trilogy. He has received four Grammy Awards, three Classical BRIT Awards, two Golden Globes, and an Academy Award. He was also named on the list of Top 100 Living Geniuses, published by The Daily Telegraph.

Prometheus is an original motion picture soundtrack to the 2012 science fiction film of the same name. Written by German composer Marc Streitenfeld, the soundtrack also features two supplemental pieces by English composer Harry Gregson-Williams, and it was conducted by Ben Foster. Since working as music supervisor on Ridley's Scott's 2005 film, Kingdom Of Heaven, Scott has called on Marc Streitenfeld to score all of his subsequent movies including A Good Year, Body Of Lies, Robin Hood and American Gangster, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA. Prior to his work as a composer, Streitenfeld had collaborated with Scott as music editor, music supervisor and technical score advisor on several projects, including Matchstick Men, Black Hawk Down and Gladiator.

Zimmer spent the early part of his career in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States. He is the head of the film music division at DreamWorks studios and works with other composers through the company that he founded, Remote Control Productions, formerly known as Media Ventures. His studio in Santa Monica, California has an extensive range of computer equipment and keyboards, allowing demo versions of film scores to be created quickly.

Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Night Trilogy, Interstellar, Inception) directs this World War II thriller, starring Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Cillian Murphy. Hans Zimmer, longtime Nolan's collaborator provides the score. The movie features the evacuation of Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France, who were cut off and surrounded by the German army from the beaches and Harbor of Dunkirk, France, between May 26 - June 04, 1940, during the Battle of France.
