Bolis Pupul Ich Mwen

"Ich bin vergnugt" (I am content) is the title of the new CD by soprano Miriam Feuersinger. It refers to Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata "Ich bin vergnugt mit meinem Glucke" BWV 84, but it also corresponds entirely to the feelings of the singer, who is fulfilling a long-cherished wish of her heart with this programme.

Two conceptual compositions from Christoph Korn: the first, "Ich Spreche Diesen" (I appeal to this) where spoken word is placed in a loop and then slowly erased by custom software using aleatory procedures; then "Stille" (Silent), a Cage inspired work. The file sizes are not a mistake, as ridiculous as they may seem. Track 1 has many stretches of silence and track 2 is basically pure digital silence the whole way through. FLAC is not constant bit rate encoding so these files sizes are possible with very quiet / silent tracks that are still quite long.

Karat is a German rock band, founded in 1975 in East Berlin, then part of the German Democratic Republic, or East Germany. Karat also gained a strong following in West Germany when its 1982 album Der blaue Planet (The Blue Planet) was one of the year's top sellers in both East and West Germany, making Karat one of the more prominent bands in German-language rock music.

Seine Zeitgenossen nannten ihn den Weimarer Wolf. Tatsächlich prägte Ernst Wilhelm Wolf als Lehrer, Konzertmeister, Organist und schließlich auch als Hofkapellmeister der kunstsinnigen Herzogin Anna Amalia das Musikleben in Weimar. Auch wenn er dem Dichterfürsten Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ein Dorn im Auge war, hielt Wolf dem Hof und seiner Herzogin jahrzehntelang die Treue. Selbst ein Angebot des Preußenkönigs Friedrich des Zweiten, in Berlin Nachfolger von Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach zu werden, lehnte Wolf dankend ab. Dass er aber Bachs empfindsamen Stil, und auch den des Berliner Kapellmeisters Carl Heinrich Graun sehr schätzte, ist in seinen Werken unüberhörbar. Wolfs Instrumentalmusik hat schon in den letzten Jahren wieder mehr Aufmerksamkeit erhalten.
