This is guitar legend Chet Atkins in front of full, lush string arrangements by Dennis Farnon and his orchestra. This session from 1958 was recorded direct to two track tape in Hollywood. Chet is amazing and this recording will prove it with 12 beatiful, easy-listening tracks.

Newly remixed from available two-, three- and four-track tapes for Dolby Surround, this release allows a similarly-equipped listener the chance to experience the same hall acoustics heard during the recording of these albums, and presents a quality of sound superior to the original vinyl album. The critical listener will also note that current digital technology can reveal the limitations of the analog source material, and that radical restoration methods were not attempted, in order to preserve the full-frequency content of the original recordings.

This provocative book follows MGM's Gene Kelly musical Brigadoon through the worlds of 1940s Broadway theatre and 1950s Hollywood and documents the contempt the film has elicited, particularly from the Scots intelligentsia. McArthur succumbs to Brigadoon's charm, but finds no such mitigating features in Mel Gibson's 1995 blockbuster Braveheart. Tracing Braveheart's appropriation by political, touristic and sporting figures, he argues that, far from its being about Scottish history, it is primarily about Hollywood's generic forms and cinematic traditions.
