Brian Wilson is one of popular music’s most deeply revered figures, a legendary writer, producer, arranger and performer of some of the most cherished music in pop music history. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to call Brian Wilson one of the most gifted and influential composers of the past 50 years. For the release of his 11th solo studio album, titled "No Pier Pressure", Wilson has returned to Capitol Records, his original label home with The Beach Boys.

On this 2011 tribute album, Brian Wilson covers 75 years of music from Disney films, reaching all the way back to 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The recording marries the vision of two men who shaped the image of modern California: Wilson and Walt Disney.

Released in November 1965 as a filler to meet Christmas demand, the Beach Boys convened in the studio with some friends, some acoustic instruments and a batch of cover songs to record this album intended to sound like there was a party going on. The covers include several songs by the Beatles, a Bob Dylan tune, some vintage rock 'n' roll and a version of Barbara Ann by The Regents, a surprise hit single for the Beach Boys that peaked at number two in the US and number three in the UK. This version contains both the mono and stereo mixes of the album.

The Cenci (1951–52) is Havergal Brian’s operatic realisation of Shelley’s gruesome tale of incest and parricide in Renaissance Italy. The score calls it simply ‘Opera in Eight Scenes’, but it rarely goes in for grand tunes; instead, its dark colours reflect Shelley’s fascination with the struggle between good and evil. Stylistically, it is an unusual but highly effective hybrid: a music-drama focused on the intense delivery of Shelley’s text, with the declamatory style of the vocal lines echoing such recent oratorios as Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex and Honegger’s Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher, and the freewheeling orchestral writing producing something of a vocal symphony.

Surfin' U.S.A. is the second album by American rock band the Beach Boys. It reached number two in the US, lasting 78 weeks on the albums chart, eventually being certified gold by the RIAA, and brought the group newfound national success. Like the group's debut album, production was credited ostensibly to Capitol's representative for Artists and Repertoire, Nick Venet, although bandleader Brian Wilson was heavily involved in the album's composition. Originally planned as a Brian Wilson solo outing named Brian Loves You, the album is almost entirely written and performed by Wilson and was penned during a process of mental and drug rehabilitation for him.
