Two musical sisters from Bearsden are celebrating after their record released in time for Burns Night topped the classical charts on iTunes.The Ayoub Sisters recorded their hit Melodies From Scotland with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

The Whitmore Sisters are real life sisters Eleanor Whitmore (The Mastersons, Steve Earle, Tanya Tucker) and Bonnie Whitmore (Hayes Carll, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock). Sisters Eleanor and Bonnie Whitmore, two of roots music's most accomplished songwriter/instrumentalist/vocalists, are releasing their first album together as The Whitmore Sisters. Titled Ghost Stories, it's inspired by the loss of family, friends, ex-boyfriends and on the title track people who died by police violence.

The Ennis Sisters have weathered a lifetime of phases, and a series of musical explorations together. Their latest album, Stages, is a return to their roots – singing contemporary folk songs with a traditional Irish Newfoundland twist. “That’s all we knew growing up,” says Maureen Ennis. “Newfoundland is a very unique province and because of this, we have a different perspective of our surroundings. “We identify very strongly with coming from an island in the middle of the North Atlantic. There is definitely a ruggedness and a tenacity that comes with being from a place like Newfoundland.”
