Schubert’s eight “spontaneous inventions” from 1827 are character pieces that are among the best known and most popular works for piano. Full of rich lyricism, they are much more than trifles or whims, as the title suggests. The Turkish-German pianist and composer, Kemal Cem Yilmaz, was rewarded with first prize in 2002 in the National Piano Competition held in Eskisehir, played in Bogaziçi University and Sabanci University concert series with Akbank Chamber Orchestra leaded by Cem Mansur, and played as soloist in Kadiköy Municipality Filarmony Orchestra with Hakan Sensoy leading. He performed in many halls in Istanbul, in Izmir and Bursa and Eskisehir Music Festival. Outstanding music critics have praised the artist.
