Green Carnation are from Kristiansand, Norway. They formed in 1990, but did not release their first album until 2000. This is because shortly after having formed as Green Carnation, main composer Tchort left the band to join Emperor. The rest of the band continued/restarted under a new name: In the Woods. Tchort decided to restart the band after In the Woods disbanded, including some old In the Woods members back into the band. They released their debut, "Journey to the End of the Night" in 2000, a 70 minute concept album, inspired by the tragic loss of Tchort's daughter. The result was an emotionally laden, folk-inspired, Progressive/Doom opus which took over 6 months of rehearsals before recording began, then a further 2 years before it was finally released, through German label, Prophecy Productions…

For the better part of the 70's, Sherbet were the Kings of Pop in Australia and by mid-decade they were undisputed rulers of the Australian charts and stages - only with the appearance of the mighty Skyhooks were they confronted with their first serious rival. Vigorously marketed as a teen-oriented singles band, they produced polished, highly commerical pop/R&B. In terms of teen adulation (especially with girls), they were the true successors to The Easybeats, with lead singer Daryl Braithwaite unquestionably the most popular male performer of the period. Their popularity reached Beatle-esque heights, with regular riots, mobbings and scenes of crowd hysteria. The first 20 tracks on this release trace the recorded history of Sherbet during their hit making years, from their 1971 chart debut "Can You Feel It?" through their finest moments such as "Cassandra", "Slipstream", "Summer Love", "Life", "Child's Play", "Howzat" and "Magazine Madonna", to their poignant 1978 hit "Another Night On The Road". The band reunited to perform on the 'Countdown Spectacular' arena tour in 2006 and recorded 2 new songs "Hearts Are Insane" and "Red Dress", both of which are included as the final 2 tracks.
Limited edition 2008 album reissue comes housed in a deluxe digipak with extra artwork. The DVD features a new 30 minute documentary ('The Pathologist's Report') that features interviews with all key band members filmed in London and Liverpool 2007. Swansong was Carcass' last album, originally due to be released on Columbia Records in 1995, but eventually issued on Earache in 1996.
Green Carnation is a band from Kristiansand, Norway formed in 1990 that has created songs from both the progressive rock and progressive metal genres. Some also describe their music as art rock. Green Carnation's trend of music has continuously become less and less heavy after every release; from straight forward death metal, doom metal/progressive metal, to a more hard rock-sounding form of progressive rock and in 2006, went as far as to releasing an entirely acoustic album Acoustic Verses.
