Marseille has a reputation for being France's most culturally integrated city and remained calm when race riots plagued others in 2005 and 2007. It seems appropriate that a band like Watcha Clan should emerge from this milieu, but just as politics and art aren’t always great bedfellows, their socially progressive stance and multiple stylistic reference points don’t necessarily make for great music. For quite some time, some cultural commentators have insisted that 'fusion is future'; whether or not that's true, mish-mash isn't.

Co-produced by Jair Willis and the group's cousin, Chris Wright, SPEAK My MIND showcases the vocals of Jair ("Is There More," "How Much Of Me Is You," "Level," "Give"), Jenny ("Pull You Down," "Speak My Mind,"), Jackson ("The Line," "Set Me Free"), Jasmine ("What Life's About, "Paper Dolls") and Jeanette ("I Choose Life"). Jenny is also the featured vocalist on the one song not written by the siblings: a gentle, wistful re-imagining of the Johnny Cash classic "Ring of Fire." Many of the Willises also share their chops on a variety of instruments. Jair plays most of the guitars, guitar-related instruments and the Uillean pipes.

Liebe, Macht, Kampf. Faszinierend, farbenfroh, brillant erzählt. Spannendes mit Fantasy Einschlag aus dem feudalen Japan. Die Bücher sind sehr spannend und zumindest der Japan nicht kennende Leser hat das Gefühl, dass ihm eine fremde Kultur deutlich näher gebracht wird. Die Geschichte hat kein wirkliches Happy End und wartet mehr als einmal mit traurigen und schrecklichen Szenen auf. Auch dies dient sehr der Glaubwürdigkeit von Charakteren und Handlung.
