Seoul duo Salamanda arrive on Wisdom Teeth with their latest and most focused LP yet: 'In Parallel' - a vividly textural and immersive record that brings a new level of clarity to their typically psychedelic, expansive approach.
Since arriving in 2019, the pair - comprised of friends Uman Therma (aka Sala) and Yetsuby (aka Manda) - have been fast at work mapping out their elaborate, dream-state sonic world - prolifically honing their sound across four albums and over a dozen singles to date.
Across their already-extensive discography the pair have established a few key calling cards. "On Cocoon Crash, their follow-up to their breakthrough second album Paradise in Me, K's Choice is determined to showcase their musical diversity. As a result, the album is a bit scattershot, since it runs the gamut from jangling folk-rock to roaring post-grunge. It's all tied together by Sarah Bettens' vocals, but she's more of a chameleon than a strong identity, fitting her talents to the song instead of bending them toward her demands. Consequently, the album can sound like a post-Lilith Fair alt-rock sampler, but it's enjoyable, simply because K's Choice's melodic skills have improved and they're capable of delivering good alt-rock songs, even if they are a little faceless. Tiger Moth Tales is an English Neo-Prog solo project from multi-instrumentalist Pete JONES. JONES lost his sight at an early age but quickly latched onto music as a huge part of his life. At the age of four, JONES had his first piano and turned his love of music into one of his primary focuses in his school years, participating in school plays, musical festivals and concerts. In 1988, JONES won the junior final of the BBC's Song for Christmas. After school, he formed the pop due 2 TO GO with his friend, singer Emma PAINE. The pair spent the next ten years playing pop covers on the Nottinghamshire circuit and were finalists on the BBC's Star for a Night in 2001 and ITV's The X Factor in 2004. The duo toured in the National Arena X Factor Tour in 2005. In 2013, JONES began work on a concept album detailing the loss of one's childhood. Wanting to separate the new work from his pop career, he adopted the name TIGER MOTH TALES as the name for his progressive rock project. The debut album, "Cocoon" is a Neo gem, with hints of ARENA and FROST* fans of complex music with a modern sound may enjoy this artist.
