Maxophone, from Milan, formed in 1973 as a six-piece with an unusual assortment of instruments, due to their past experience as music students. It is a very special deluxe box set including a CD with 10 vintage tracks recovered from outtakes and alternate demo material from 1973-1975 (4 tracks are unreleased), plus a DVD with Maxophone live footage from a 1976 concert at RAI studios in Torino (RAI is the Italian national TV broadcasting company). All recordings have been carefully remastered: The songs on the CD were recorded on 4-tracks equipment. The DVD footage was professionally filmed by Italian TV in 1976, and has a bonus video track of Maxophone re-formed in 2005, playing one live track at Radio Popolare studios in Milano. The DVD also includes bonus features, such as interviews with group members.

Bloodhound Gang - One Fierce Beer Coaster (1996)

Bloodhound Gang is a Collegeville, Pennsylvania-based American comedy alternative/punk band, although it began as a rap group and gradually changed their genre throughout the years. Their songs typically have humorous and off-beat, satirical lyrics that often deal with sexual subjects and contain many puns and innuendos. They are best known for their hit singles "Fire Water Burn" and "The Bad Touch". Formed in 1992, Bloodhound Gang has sold more than 6 million albums.
One Fierce Beer Coaster is a second full-length album, first released on Cheese Factory Records (now Republic Records), and re-released on Geffen Records in 1998.

The Macc Lads probably aren't the first band to preserve the sound of a real live fart on vinyl. But they are one of the first to invite the perpetrator of the ensuing symphony to tour with them as their support act. "Mr Methane" tells the rest of the story, as the world's most deliriously disgusting band ignite their fifth album with a chorus that you're certain they must have used in the past…but they haven't. "Gimme gimme gimme gimme alcohol," they demand, and we are launched once again into a madcap world of sex and beer-fuelled mayhem, peopled by such delightful characters as "Fellatio Nelson", "Man in the Boat", "Two Stroke Eddie" and the "Apprentice Dentist", who you should simply hope and pray never turns up at your local surgery. In fact, you probably wouldn't want any of the Macc Lads hanging around your house, your sister, your local bar…but ha! They probably are already, which is why you already know half the words to this album, before you've even played it through, and it doesn't matter how ashamed you are of what you did last night, the Macc Lads did it worse. Good for them. [itunes-apple-com]

One Fierce Beer Run was filmed around the world during 1996 and 1997, before the Bloodhound Gang enjoyed their moment of real global stardom with the heroically puerile Hooray for Boobies album. The videos, such as they are, are for earlier tracks, including "I Wish I Was Gay So I Could Get Chicks" and "Your Only Friends Are Make Believe", none of which, sadly, are as good as their titles. But the bulk of One Fierce Beer Run consists of home movies, which is a shame since, given that they are essentially a detention class with a recording contract, the Bloodhound Gang are clever and funny people and it's hard for the viewer not to feel, as their despairing lecturers surely did, that they could have done better.
