The next decade, Wonder remained active as trends came and went, delivering additional platinum albums such as Hotter Than July (1980), In Square Circle (1985), and Characters (1987) amid inductions into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Recording less frequently since then, he released A Time to Love (2005) in his fifth decade of activity, during which he also earned his 25th Grammy Award for his and Tony Bennett's duet remake of his own "For Once in My Life." Wonder has continued to tour, most notably performing the entirety of Songs in the Key of Life, across the U.S., and has also released the occasional single, such as the Gary Clark, Jr. collaboration "Where Is Our Love Song" (2020), a response to global unrest. Wonder was born Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 13, 1950 (his name was later altered to Stevland Morris when his mother married).

Latest in the dynasty of Beale Street monikered Bluesman is Preston Shannon, aka, The King Of Beale Street. Shannon is a journeyman Memphis Bluesman with Frankenstein chops. Dust My Broom is his sixth release, two of which were produced by the mythical Memphis sound collaborator, Willie Mitchell.
This production showcases the artist in two settings. Seven tracks are from studio sessions in Memphis. Five are live tracks produced for radio in Europe. In both settings the sheer artistry and power of Preston Shannon purely shines. Mr. Shannon’s solos are tasteful straight ahead urban blues with the right touch of country delta inspiration. Injected with spurts of classic R&B and even Pop influences, Dust My Broom is a great listening experience.

Zaireeka is the 1997 album by Oklahoma alternative combo The Flaming Lips. Zaireeka is a 4CD set but only has eight songs as a whole. The original process of this was you would need four CD players to play each song as they were meant to be heard. Each CD features a portion of the song from the multi-track but each track sounds different from one another. By playing them at the same time, it creates a unique sonic adventure, perhaps in surround sound. You can play all four at once or in any sequence, in any and all positions/locations. This unique project was released on 28 October, 1997.

In the world of Hawkwind reissues and compilations, it's very easy to look askance at this four-CD box set and shrug – after all, it's only one more low budget collection of low-quality outtakes and live cuts, isn't it? As a matter of fact, it isn't. Rather, it is the first ever Hawks collection to compile material from every legitimate source available at that time, including the band's stints on UA, Charisma, Bronze and RCA; indeed, prior to this box, none of the latter material was available on compact disc. Neither were single mixes of "25 Years" and "Angels of Death," and the original studio version of "High Rise" (which was inexplicably replaced by an inferior live version on the P.X.R.5 CD). And that's just for starters. Add one previously unreleased cut, "I Am the Eye That Looks Within" and a full set of lyrics, and this is an almighty package from the word go.

Following a notorious flirtation with alternative rock, Moby returned to the electronic dance mainstream on the 1997 album I Like to Score. With 1999's Play, he made yet another leap back toward the electronica base that had passed him by during the mid-'90s. The first two tracks, "Honey" and "Find My Baby," weave short blues or gospel vocal samples around rather disinterested breakbeat techno. This version of blues-meets-electronica is undoubtedly intriguing to the all-important NPR crowd, but it is more than just a bit gimmicky to any techno fans who know their Carl Craig from Carl Cox. Fortunately, Moby redeems himself in a big way over the rest of the album with a spate of tracks that return him to the evocative, melancholy techno that's been a specialty since his early days…
