1974-1977 brings together 5 CDs absolutely bursting with music covering the most overlooked, but arguably most pioneering, period of Marc Bolan’s glittering career. It rounds up the final three T. Rex studio albums – Bolan’s Zip Gun, Futuristic Dragon and Dandy In The Underworld – and a string of 10 peerless late-period singles (and B-sides) that included New York City, Dreamy Lady, The Soul Of My Suit, and of course I Love To Boogie. Throughout the journey Marc’s restless muse and creative spark encompasses soul and R&B (Ride My Wheels, Dreamy Lady), excursions into proto-glam metal (Zip Gun Boogie, The London Boys) and nervy, spiky-sharp tracks (Think Zinc, Celebrate Summer) that nod towards the punk explosion happening in London during the period and upon which Marc had been such a pivotal influence.

While the jazz fascists (read: purists) may be screaming "sellout" because Diana Krall decided to record something other than standards this time out, the rest of us can enjoy the considerable fruit of her labors. The Girl in the Other Room is, without question, a jazz record in the same manner her other outings are. The fact that it isn't made up of musty and dusty "classics" may irk the narrow-minded and reactionary, but it doesn't change the fact that this bold recording is a jazz record made with care, creativity, and a wonderfully intimate aesthetic fueling its 12 songs.

A new official Pink Floyd compilation project titled 8-Tracks, featuring eight essential classics selected from the band’s 1971 – 1979 era, was released on 5th June via Sony Music. The tracklist includes the instantly recognisable songs ‘Money’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2’, ‘Time’ and ‘Comfortably Numb’, alongside earlier cuts in ‘One Of These Days’ and ‘Wot’s… Uh The Deal’, as well as an exclusive full version of ‘Pigs On The Wing’, previously available on the 1977 Animals 8-track cartridge release. The track sequence has been edited by Steven Wilson using sound effects sourced from the original multitracks to make for a continuous listening experience in classic Floydian style.
