David Darling’s Other Worlds is a unique New Age album that includes his signature pizzicato, vocalizations, solo and choir cellos; while exploring new canvases of piano, electronic music and percussion, expanded with additional soloists. Darling West decamped for a tiny island on Norway’s west coast to begin writing what was to become Cosmos, their fifth studio album. For the first time, the band’s core – married couple Mari and Tor Egil Kreken – have included band members Thomas Gallatin and Christer Slaaen in the songwriting and production process. As a larger united, Darling West has really evolved. Cosmos is indeed the sound of expansion.

Darling are at the forefront of Nordicana. The Norwegian folk- and americana group are releasing their fourth album in 2020, and will be following up the great success of their previous albums. They have already received a Norwegian Grammy for their album 'Vinyl and a Heartache' in 2017, toured the US and Germany, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands several times the last couple of years. They have played AmericanaFest in Nashville in 2017 and 2018, SXSW i Austin in 2017 and 2019, and Folk Alliance in Kansas City in 2018. They will play FAI in New Orleans in January 2020, AmericanaFest UK later that month, and most likely go back to AmericanaFest in Nashville in 2020.

The Recording Academy has announced the 2024 nominees for the Grammy awards in 91 categories. In the category New Age/Ambient/Chant Hans Christian’s latest CD release Ocean Dreaming Ocean (CurveBlue Records) was nominated for a Grammy, along with four other nominees, out of over 175 entries. The 66th annual Grammy Awards will take place February 4th, 2024 where the winner will be announced.
