Five CD box set tracking David’s early development throughout 1968 and 1969, via his home demos, BBC radio sessions, studio recordings with guitarist John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson and the experimental music and mimegroup, Feathers. DAVID BOWIE - CONVERSATION PIECE contains twelve previously unreleased tracks/demos.

The forthcoming David Bowie ‘era’ box set which covers most of the 1990s will be released in late November. Brilliant Adventures will be an 11CD box set or a 18LP vinyl box.

Brand new mix of the Space Oddity (aka David Bowie) album by longtime Bowie producer/collaborator Tony Visconti, including the track Conversation Piece which was omitted from the original album. Of the 2019 Space Oddity album mix Visconti says “It was so much fun to find hidden gems of musicianship with more time to mix the second time around, a guitar twiddle here, a trombone blast there, Marc Bolan’s voice in a group choir and more detail in general that we overlooked all those years ago when the label gave us a week at the most to mix this album. And in the details you will find 22 year old David Bowie, who would soon take the world by storm."

This year, Parlophone will not move into the 1990s and issue a fifth ‘eras’ box set in their continuing David Bowie reissue programme, but will instead release a five-CD box set called Conversation Piece that focuses on Bowie’s early development throughout 1968 and 1969. As the music industry moved away from 7? 45s in the ’90s and ’00s and toward CD EPs, 12? dance mixes and downloads, every effort was made to keep with the original singles concept so some of these other formats are included, if there were unique versions, and it appeared that The Thin White Duke had intended it to be a stand alone release or to promote a new album. A new collection of unreleased David Bowie demos will be releasing later this year. Titled THE ‘MERCURY’ DEMOS, the new album includes 10 one-take recordings from 1969 that the iconic artist made alongside John “Hutch” Hutchinson, who helped in providing guitars and vocals to the various tracks. The collection includes an early version of “Space Oddity” (released previously), as well as previously unreleased recordings.
