David Lapham's take on Garth Ennis' hellish apocalyptic story seems even better than the original; there is serious character development, with the dialogue inducing that skin-crawling feeling notably absent from Ennis' opus. Yet there is also nastiness and gore aplenty. The new art team likewise is a worthy successor to the original, infusing the story with their own distinctive style. apparently has everything the original had and quite a few things that it didn't.
