Following Tallis and Byrd’s first publishing venture of Cantiones Sacrae of 1575, Byrd waited some 13 years to again wake the presses with his compositions. His 1588 Psalmes, Sonets, & songs of sadnes and pietie was his first solo publication, for which Elizabeth’s Lord Chancellor (and notable favourite), Sir Christopher Hatton, acted as patron.

The dilemma faced by any arranger of Bach is to stay true to the character of his music while knowing he would have been far bolder and more imaginative. For this version, I have attempted to remain within a sound-world that he would have found familiar. I did, however, have two factors on my side: Bach's sublime and rigorous counterpoint and, in Craig Ogden, a virtuoso guitarist whose technical accomplishment is matched only by his Aussie ability to remain unruffled in the face of any challenge.

CIRCADIAN WORLD CLOCK from David Haney and Big Round Records is a captivating exploration of nature’s musical landscape. In this groundbreaking recording project, Haney challenges participants from around the world to submit 2-3 minute field recordings, each recorded at the specific hours of the day prescribed by the monastic Liturgy of the Hours. These field recordings from the United States, Russia, Brazil, and many other locales make a powerful statement about our interconnectedness as a species. The soundscapes are interpreted by Haney and his fellow musicians with piano, mallets, EBows, drums, percussion, didgeridoo, and an assortment of brass and reed instruments, offering performances the likes of which inspire reverent contemplation.

“Listen” is the sixth studio album by French record producer and deejay David Guetta. The hitmaker delivered the long-in-the-works follow-up to 2011’s smash album “Nothing but the Beat“, which was released on digital retailers on November 21, 2014 via Big Beat and Atlantic Records. Guetta confirmed the date during a Twitter Q&A with SiriusXM Hits 1. It comes preceded by the promotional singles “Shot Me Down“ featuring Skylar Grey, “Bad“ featuing Vassy, and his latest smash single “Lovers On the Sun“ featuring Sam Martin. The producer has worked in the studio with Natalia Kills, Avicii and Emeli Sandé in this new project. The album includes collaborations with Sia, Nicki Minaj and John Legend, among others.

At the height of the early-2010s EDM boom, French producer David Guetta pumped out hit after hit before the formulaic pop-singer-plus-big-beat combination became ubiquitous and repetitive. Even Guetta began losing steam: 2011's Nothing But the Beat and 2014's Listen housed a handful of standouts, but the DJ seemed to be on autopilot.

‘The Big Dream‘, the sophomore album from David Lynch, was one of 2013’s most acclaimed albums, being lauded for it’s striking singularity and extraordinary breadth of vision.
