Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka is a 1961 Soviet film directed by Aleksandr Rou based on a collection of short stories, Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka, by Nikolai Gogol.

In this comedy, the daughter of a British aristocrat is sent to Parisian finishing school where she falls in love with a charming American student, and discovers that his father is a business associate of her own. Paternal trouble ensues when her young man forgets to deliver an important letter to her father and he is forced to fly to New York to do the business himself. While gone, he sends his daughter to Scotland with his friend. Her boy friend follows and slyly begins suggesting that they elope. When her father learns the lad's identity, he offers his blessing. Unfortunately, the young daughter has fallen deeply in love with his best friend's handsome son and they elope. Both fathers are very pleased.

Grigory Chukhrai directs this dramatic story of love, trust, and courage starring Yevgeny Urbansky. Test pilot Alexei Astakhov was taken prisoner during WWII. Upon his return home, the hero of the Soviet Union was expelled from the Communist Party, fired from his job, and deprived of all decorations. For years he has been unable to go back to the work he loves. Gradually, Astakhov loses faith in himself and begins to drink. But the love of his wife saves him and inspires him with hope for justice.

In a small spanish town, a group of old ladies decide to celebrate Christmas Eve with a "Sit a poor man at your table" dinner: each wealthy household of the town will have a homeless person dining with them that night. The celebrations also include a parade, and in it we find Plácido, the humble owner of a three-wheeler, whose family is forced to live in a public lavatory because of the lack of money to pay the rent, and who has to pay the second bill of his vehicle before midnight or else he will lose it.

Marshal Earp keeps the law, first in Kansas and later in Arizona, using his over-sized pistols and a variety of sidekicks. Most of the saga is based loosely on fact, with historical badguys and good guys, ending up with the famous shootout at the O.K. corral.

The Atlanteans, or rather the slaves of Atlantis, are forced to mine a crystalline material which absorbs the suns rays. These crystals can then be used for warmth. The misuse of science has created weapons out of the crystals that can fire a heat ray to destroy whatever it touches.
