Dieter Meier, the voice of Yello, is releasing his first solo album!
The 12-track longplayer sounds like a magical sound-alchemy made of Chanson, Electro and Dub. Realised with various musicians and producers including Thomas Wydler (drummer in Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), Nackt (producer for Mute recording artist Apparat), Ben Lauber (producer, synthesizer), Ephrem Lüchinger (piano), Tobias Preisig (violine), Nicolas Rüttimann (guitar), and electropunk pioneer & producer T.Raumschmiere aka Marco Haas!

His previous chamber jazz album included a whispered theme from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony ("Ode to Joy"). On this album, he has satisfied his yearning by recording an entire album dedicated to the most classical of all our composers. Ilg and his perfectly harmonizing trio demonstrate that he is not about gimmicky "jazz goes classic" crossover music, but about taking the originals and somehow making them his own. His incorruptible eye for the essence, making the monumental sensual and human, is impressive.

Der Spitzname »Poptitan« kommt nicht von ungefähr, denn Dieter Bohlen zeichnete im Laufe seiner über 30-jährigen Karriere als Musiker und Produzent schon für so manchen Hit verantwortlich. Im Mai 2017 widmet ihm der Fernsehsender RTL deshalb eine eigene Sendung, die einen Blick auf seine Karriere wirft. Passend dazu gibt es außerdem einen umfangreichen Sampler: »Die Megahits« lautet der bezeichnende Titel der Box.
