This book includes a collection of chapters to facilitate continuous improvements including flexibility and accessibility in e-learning and digital education by exploring the challenges and opportunities of innovative approaches through the lenses of current theories, policies, and practices.

This book is a collection of the leading scientific studies, which elaborate on the unique specifics of Central Asia and Russia and dwell on the potential and current contribution of digital higher education to the preservation of these specifics and adaptation of universities to them.

This book is about the promotion and development of digital solutions for inclusive education, including a variety of hardware, software, digital learning materials, and digital learning content currently available on the market. All of these technological solutions serve as support materials and building blocks for inclusive learning environments but, at the same time, can involve hidden risks which may inadvertently create even greater gaps in inclusive education. This book provides strategies and methodologies that promote the development of opportunities for using digital technologies to support inclusive education. It provides an, understanding how to close the current digital gap while ensuring that the digital technologies selected do not support new risks of exclusion from the digital learning environment, strengthening and augmenting the already existing digital divide.

This book relates to the experiences and initiatives of teacher education institutions in the Southern Africa region to empower teachers to cope with teaching and learning in the digital age. The book covers the impacts of digital technologies on the teaching and learning process. Online and blended learning, digital pedagogies, the design of curricula and learning experiences to address the learning needs and profile of learners are considered in this book. Furthermore, the way in which pre- and in-service teachers learn about alternative modes of assessment will also be considered. In this regard, innovative concepts such as renewable and situated assessments, multimodal assessments, digital storytelling and e-portfolios, amongst others, were explored.
