The line-up on this newly released bootleg is said to consist of Florian Schneider, Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger, which tells us that this was probably recorded in that short period of time in 1971, estimated to 6 months, when Ralf Hütter had left the band. Supposedly, the recording was made at the Gondel Kino in Bremen, Germany on June 25, 1971. And it's an interesting recording.
After being the leader of Harmonia (post Neu! project), the legendary krautrocker Klaus Dinger formed La! Neu? This mid 90's musical excursion is an obvious reference to Neu! and La Düsseldorf. The group released a few albums for Captain Trip Records. Klaus Dinger's La! Neu? practice a positive, pulsating and improvised kraut electronica.
After the brief intro, in which Klaus Dinger's La! Neu? work themselves up into a kind of punk-meets-world music lather courtesy of Bluepoint Underground, Year of the Tiger settles into more familiar territory. The two remaining tracks combine for over an hour of piano and sampler noodling by Dinger cohorts Rembrandt Lensink and Rudiger Elze - Dinger's own drum work is also featured…
La Düsseldorf was a German band, consisting of onetime Kraftwerk drummer and Neu! multi-instrumentalist Klaus Dinger and occasional Neu! collaborators Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe. La Düsseldorf was formed after Neu! disbanded following the release of their Neu! '75 record. They released a string of successful albums (with sales totaling over a million) during the late 1970s and early 1980s and were considered highly influential by the likes of Brian Eno and David Bowie, with Bowie going so far as calling La Düsseldorf "the soundtrack of the eighties".
A remastered version of the Klaus Dinger + Rheinita Bella Düsseldorf - Néondian (Klausi Scheißt Auf Hollywood) (also known as "La Düsseldorf 4") album from 1985…
Thomas Dinger, brother of Klaus Dinger, formed 1-A Düsseldorf together with Nils Kristiansen. Although their name is very similar to the former band of Thomas, La Düsseldorf, their music sounds more experimental. They released 5 albums. After the death of Thomas Dinger in 2002, Nils Kristiansen has completed the last album, Pyramidblau, with Viktoria Wehrmeister and Steffen Domnisch as a tribute to Thomas Dinger.
La Dusseldorf's Viva crystallized Klaus Dinger's progressive rock vision into a symphony of swirling guitars, rich keyboard melodies and driving percussive beats. The magnum opus "Cha, Cha 2000," will forever stand as one of the all-time anthems of futurist rock & roll.
La Düsseldorf is Klaus Dinger's side project after the scission of Neu! in 1975. In this musical adventure, Dinger is accompanied by Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe who also participated to the recording of the third and last Neu! The self titled album "La Dusseldorf" was released in 1976, venturing from avant-garde for concrete noises, manipulated sounds, pre-punk atmospheres. This album has a total disregard for musical convention, the musicians don't hesitate to mix without restriction a bunch of sounds taken from a great variety of musical styles (with pop accents, motoric "electronic" pulses, krautrock weird instrumentals and punk's eccentricity). After this original and diverse collection of experiments, the band recorded their second "Viva" in 1978…
Solo includes Michael’s first four solo projects, Flammende Herzen, Sterntaler, Katzenmusik and Fernwärme, a Soundtracks and a Remixes & Live album (only with the vinyl boxset). Speaking about the release, Michael said: ‘I’m incredibly excited to announce my new boxset ‘Solo’. German act Saffran was formed in the late 1960's, and the just over ten years they existed they only released a 7 inch single, Die Jungen Dinger, in 1974. But as the second version of the band solidified around 1974 they did record a full album's worth of material. But as many other bands, probably more than we'll ever know about, the record labels they were in touch with didn't find their material worth releasing. Just over 20 years later German label Garden of Delights decided that this unreleased production should see the light of day, and in 2004 Saffran's one and only full lenght effort Blue in Ashes was given it's belated official release. With the A and B side of their 1974 single added as bonus tracks.
