Popular hip hop duo composed of Jeff Townes AKA DJ Jazzy Jeff (b. Jeffrey A. Townes, 22 January 1965, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) and Will Smith AKA The Fresh Prince (b. Willard Christopher Smith Jr., 25 September 1968, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA).
Jazzy Jeff started DJing in the mid-1970's when he was a mere 10 years old, (though he is not to be confused with the similarly-titled Jazzy Jeff who cut an album, also for Jive, in 1985).
Together with Will Smith , they became the first rap act to receive a Grammy Award for their second 12" single "Parents Just Don't Understand".
Meanwhile, Jeff founded "A Touch Of Jazz Inc", a stable of producers working on rap/R&B projects. The duo picked up a second Grammy for "Summertime" in 1991, before scoring a shock UK number 1 in 1993 with "Boom! Shake The Room".

2016 has been a stellar year for experimental hip hop luminary DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, with the release of his critically acclaimed studio album The Mountain Will Fall – his first release in five years – drawing praise from all corners, from the Guardian who called the record “impressive in its inventiveness” to MOJO who claimed “Shadow is back in the frame” and AV Club who hailed it as “DJ Shadow’s best work since his early-aughts heyday”. For many, it is Shadow’s 1996 debut album Endtroducing that they keep returning to, widely regarded as a groundbreaking release that paved the way for experimental hip hop and changed the shape of electronic music from that point on. Upon its release The Guardian gave it a 5* review and called it “One of the most daring and original albums of recent times”, continuing, “This is genius”, while Spin wrote that the album ""practically folds you into its symphonic fantasia, the coming-of-age story of a 24-year-old bunk-bed dreamer."" Almost a decade later Pitchfork awarded Endtroducing a perfect 10 in their review of the 2005 Deluxe Edition, calling the record “deeply spiritual.”

DJ-Kicks is a 1999 "mixtape" compilation released by Thievery Corporation as part of !K7 Records' DJ-Kicks series. This was released on !K7's label Studio !K7.

Brainfreeze is a collaborative album between Joshua Davis and Lucas McFadden, better known as American DJ's and producers DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist. This is a collection of them mixing up classic soul and other funky oddities from their collection. This was released on the short-lived one-off label Sixty 7 Recordings.

Shroom Crumbs is a 2009 EP by Bru Lei and Christopher Sheffield, the latter who was better known as DJ PRZM, or PRZM, before he died in 2007. This was their only collaborative effort together and it was brought to you by Public School.

"C'Mon N' Ride It (The Train)" is the 1996 hit single by Atlanta group Quad City DJ's. This was released on Quadrasound/Big Beat/Atlantic and features five mixes of the song, including the original and its corresponding instrumental.
