Abstract Truth - Silver Trees & Totum CD. Official reissue containing both of this group's super rare albums from 1970. The band Abstract Truth existed only for a very short time, but it was a time of super-creativity. They played a fusion of blues, folk, jazz, psychedelic and Eastern music and lifted South African rock of the early 70's from the syrupy blare of bubblegum music to new heights of progressive rock.

Composer Bryan Tewell Hughes deftly combines ethereal electronica with organic/acoustic elements, resulting in a progression of lush, complex pieces that expand the imagination and fill the aural palette. As a composer, musician, and audio craftsman, Hughes’ skill and attention to detail are attention-grabbing and unique. Moreover, his albums are not mere collections of individual songs - they are flowing, thematic works of art. Universal concepts emerge, albeit with a level of sublimity that allows the listener to formulate a unique impression of the theme.

In the beautiful edition printed by Giacomo Vincenti, the musical notation used relates to a tradition that is more Renaissance than early baroque: namely, Italian tablature for organ (in this case, with an eight-line stave for the left hand and one of five lines for the right).
