Ellow Travelers (original Series Soundtrack)

Fellow Travelers is an American historical romance political thriller television miniseries based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Thomas Mallon. Starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey, it centers on the decades-long romance between two men who first meet during the height of McCarthyism in the 1950s. The series premiered on October 27, 2023, on Showtime.

Adam Lastiwka presents the haunting and atmospheric original soundtrack for Travelers, a Netflix and Showcase co-production weaving together themes of time travel and post-apocalyptic adventure for a truly forward-looking science fiction event.

At seventeen, Lastiwka distinguished himself as a pioneer of the home studio-based recording movement with a three-album record contract. Simultaneously, he discovered the work of minimalist composers Philip Glass and Steve Reich, and others including Aphex twin, Igor Stravinksy and the Silk Road Ensemble. Perhaps most notably, it was at this time that Lastiwka first experienced Peter Gabriel’s score to ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’, which would ignite his focus to scoring for picture.

Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the CBS All Access original series Star Trek: Picard. The album features selections of the original music from the first part of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery, Fargo, The Night Of, Legion, The Umbrella Academy), including the composer’s end title theme. Also featured are two tracks from Russo’s score for the Short Treks episode Children of Mars. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Star Trek: Picard is created by Alex Kurtzman, Kirsten Beyer, Akiva Goldsman & Michael Chabon and stars Patrick Stewart, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, Isa Briones and Evan Evagora. The series premiered last month with new episodes debuting every Thursday on CBS All Access.

Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Picard, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery) presents the original music for two seasons of Apple TV + Original Series Soundtrack For All Mankind. The series is an alternate version of 1969, in which the Soviet Union overtakes the United States to the moon, and the space race continues for decades with even more ambitious goals and objectives.

“Stranger Things,” Netflix’s sci-fi success story, hit the zeitgeist last year with the force of an invisible telekinetic blast from a psychic pre-teen on the run from government operatives. It did this by unabashedly culling references from 1980s pop culture, repurposing the pulpy horror tropes of the era into a story that resonated with a contemporary audience. There’s nothing wrong with “style over substance” as a guiding aesthetic for a series like this; when done well, that sense of surface-level nostalgia can help create a world that feels both familiar and intriguing. With music, however, the same effect can be trickier to pull off. More often than not, when artists wholesale copy well-known motifs and themes, you’re left with an empty pastiche or an uninspired facsimile of a better musician.

2017 saw the long-awaited and much anticipated return of Star Trek to our television screens with Star Trek: Discovery on CBS All Access. One of the many great things about this new series, especially as opposed to the last Star Trek series that aired on television, Star Trek: Enterprise, is its soaring theme music from composer Jeff Russo. While Enterprise’s theme music was a cheesy cover of a Rod Stewart song, Discovery’s theme brought us back to the soaring sense of adventure of all the previous series in the Trek canon. It reminded us all of why we love this franchise so much in the first place.

The details of the soundtrack album for the Starz/Sky original limited series Mary & George have been revealed. The album features the show’s original music composed by Oliver Coates (Aftersun, The Stranger, Occupied City, Significant Other, Foe).

The duo, who composed the spectacular soundtrack to the Netflix hit Stranger Things, return with their sensational score to the National Geographic Original Series, Valley of The Boom. The highly anticipated television mini series is set to air on 13 January 2019 on National Geographic. The six part special series tells the wildly true stories of the epic browser wars and the companies that shaped the internet. Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein’s unique and innovative use of electronics has catapulted them to critical success. This approach to composition led them to win the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
