Regimental Sgt. Zippo is the thirty-first studio album by English musician Elton John. Regimental Sgt Zippo is the legendary ‘album that never was’ for Elton John. Signed to DJM as an artist in early 1968, he cut 12 tracks at DJM studios in London’s New Oxford Street, for a debut album. It is unclear as to why the album was never released, but a running order was allotted. As part of the excavation of material for the Jewel Box, the original running order was located: after the success of its limited release in mono for Record Store Day in 2021, we are now offering an industry-wide release in stereo, mixed at Abbey Road with the customary care of Elton’s catalogue team. In addition to the previous release, this new LP edition comes with a printed inner bag with full lyrics. The CD edition contains both stereo and mono mixes.

Elton John One of the greatest stars of the rock & roll era, Elton John exploded like a supernova in the early 1970s and sustained a career that kept him at the top of the charts for the next five decades. He had a Billboard Top 40 hit single every year between 1970 and 1996, a sign that he knew how to both change with the times and mold the times to fit him. John's earliest records were part of the moody, introspective post-'60s singer/songwriter movement, but once he had a hit with "Your Song," the pianist revealed he could also craft Beatles-like pop and pound out rockers with equal aplomb. As "Rocket Man," "Crocodile Rock," "Daniel," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," and "Bennie and the Jets" – songs John wrote with his lifelong collaborator Bernie Taupin – climbed into the Top Ten on either side of the Atlantic, John was inescapable during the first half of the '70s. His versatility, combined with his effortless melodic skills, and flamboyant stage shows, became his calling cards, sustaining him through shifts in fame and fortune.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was where Elton John's personality began to gather more attention than his music, as it topped the American charts for eight straight weeks. In many ways, the double album was a recap of all the styles and sounds that made John a star. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is all over the map, beginning with the prog rock epic "Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding)" and immediately careening into the balladry of "Candle in the Wind." For the rest of the album, John leaps between popcraft ("Bennie and the Jets"), ballads ("Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"), hard rock ("Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting"), novelties ("Jamaica Jerk-Off"), Bernie Taupin's literary pretensions ("The Ballad of Danny Bailey"), and everything in between.

"The Fox" is the 15th studio album by English singer Elton John, released in 1981. The album was produced by John, Clive Franks, and, for the first time, Chris Thomas, who would produce many more albums with John through most of the 1980s and '90s. Five of the songs (noted below) were recorded during the sessions for his previous album "21 at 33". All B-sides released around this time were also from those sessions. The first single, "Nobody Wins", charted in the US at #21, but charted best in Norway, peaking at #10. The next single, "Chloe", charted even better on the Adult Contemporary chart at #16.
