On perçoit souvent une distinction nette entre la pratique de l’improvisation et la pratique de la musique savante occidentale. L’une est considérée comme spontanée, périlleuse et sur le vif, tandis que l’autre comme l’art de la perfection, de la reproduction et de l’interprétation. Le Collectif Trytone estime, comme Nadia Boulanger, qu’aucune distinction franche ne devrait les séparer. Bien que l’écriture de Bach soit sans doute au sommet de l’activité artistique humaine, pourquoi devrait-elle être considérée comme intouchable ? Même le retour depuis les années 1970 à une ‘’interprétation historiquement informée’’ mettant l’accent sur la recherche, les sources et l’interprétation sur instruments d’époque, n’est garant d’aucune réponse définitive sur le monde sonore de Bach. L'aspect non-certain de l'imaginaire sonore de J. S. Bach permet d'envisager ce projet du Collectif Trytone avec grande curiosité. Voici repensées et ré-orchestrées des pages diverses du Cantor, des extraits de la Passion selon St. Jean ou autres cantates, et quelques pièces instrumentales, etc.

Flash-back évoque la carrière d’un très grand réalisateur, car Gilles Grangier a travaillé avec les acteurs les plus prestigieux de son temps. Gabin, par exemple, dont il fut l’ami, et qui a été la vedette de douze de ses films. Mais aussi Noël-Noël, ou les inoubliables Fernandel et Bourvil, que Grangier n’a pas hésité à réunir autour d’un scénario. La liste serait encore longue. Il faudrait lui ajouter les scénaristes, comme Audiard ou Companeez, et bien d’autres. …

Stella, a divorced Black woman in her 40s takes some time off work and travels to Jamaica while her son spends time with his father. While she is successful in her high-powered job, her love life is non-existant and her friend Delilah persuades her to take a rare vacation in order to relax. There she meets and falls in love with Winston, who is half her age. When Winston takes a time-consuming job, Stella returns home, only to discover she has lost her job. She returns to Jamaica, finding that Winston is in fact much richer than he has let on, but is then called to New York, where Delilah is ill. Winston follows her to New York and the two try to decide if their relationship can work.

The Cow and I is purportedly based on the wartime experiences of its star, French farceur Fernandel. The horse-faced comedian plays a French farmer stuck in Germany strong-armed into working for the Nazis. Deciding to escape, Fernandel and his faithful cow walk across Deutschland to his home in France. After a series of picaresque adventures, the farmer and his bovine buddy make it to French soil, only to run afoul of collaborators. The Cow and I was originally released as La Vache et le Prisonnier.
