Neeme Järvi’s multi-volume traversal of Richard Strauss with the Scottish National Orchestra was largely successful, and this effort of the early Macbeth symphonic poem and the rare vocal/orchestral song Notturno was a highlight. The Rosenkavalier Waltz sequences are a bit of lightweight filler in contrast to the darker themes of the other works on offer, but as a program is quite interesting.
Time for Living (1990). The music on this album is a blend of uplifting rhytmic and joyous melodies and soft relaxing tunes.

The Art of Fugue was J.S. Bach's final composition which many justifiably regard as the apotheosis of his legacy. This arrangement by the Musica Antiqua Koln is one of the most austere chamber versions on CD with nearly half of the movements interspersed evenly throughout the performance played by only one or two instrumentalists.
