Arguably the turning point in the career of Jefferson Airplane was the weekend of October 14-16, 1966, when the band played the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on a triple bill, preceded by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and followed by headliner Big Mama Mae Thornton, two shows a night. This was the engagement during which the Airplane's original female singer, Signe Anderson, gave way to Grace Slick. Anderson performed on the first two nights (the late show of the second providing the archival album Live at the Fillmore Auditorium 10/15/66: Late Show – Signe's Farewell, released simultaneously with this album in 2010), and Slick took over on Sunday night; the 27-and-a-half-minute early show and the 43-minute late show are presented here.

Like almost every other live release of the new millennium, Between the Line: Sara Bareilles Live at Fillmore is a multi-format package appearing as a CD/DVD set and a Blu_Ray release, all containing the same set. It's a crisp, clean production designed for home theater systems, but it also works very well as a standalone live album, since its lean, lively arrangements – often featuring extended piano-and-voice segments, with "Fairytale" being performed entirely solo by Bareilles – wind up showcasing the melodic craft behind her songs.

At Fillmore East is the first live album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band, and their third release overall. Produced by Tom Dowd, the album was released in July 1971 in the United States by Capricorn Records. As the title indicates, the recording took place at the New York City music venue Fillmore East, which was run by concert promoter Bill Graham. It was recorded over the course of three nights in March 1971 and features the band performing extended jam versions of songs such as "Whipping Post", "You Don't Love Me" and "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." At Fillmore East was the band's artistic and commercial breakthrough, and has been considered by some critics to be one of the greatest live albums in rock music. In 2004, the album was selected for preservation in the Library of Congress, deemed to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" by the National Recording Registry. Rolling Stone included at number 49 in their 2003 list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, describing it as "rock's greatest live double LP." The album was also included in the books 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2005) and 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die (2008).

Live at the Fillmore East is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on February 23, 1999. The album documents Hendrix's performances with the Band of Gypsys at the Fillmore East on December 31, 1969 and January 1, 1970. It is drawn from the same performances as, and can be seen as an extended complement to, the Band of Gypsys album, consisting mostly of songs not on the original album. Continuing right where the seminal classic Band Of Gypsys left off, Live At The Fillmore East expands on the ageless classic. Features 16 stunning recordings, 13 previously unreleased, from the series of four New Year's concerts at Bill Graham's famed Fillmore East Theater.

Whereas most great live rock albums are about energy, At Fillmore East is like a great live jazz session, where the pleasure comes from the musicians' interaction and playing. The great thing about that is, the original album that brought the Allmans so much acclaim is as notable for its clever studio editing as it is for its performances…

Recorded live at the Fillmore on April 30, 1996, this excellent disc captures Townshend stripping his career back to just guitar and keyboards (contributed by the great Jon Carin), and then running through 21 songs that could almost be a live recounting of the Scoop series. It's a staggeringly intimate performance, with Townshend exuding a warmth that rarely comes across on disc, but which here could heat your house all winter.

Franklin's performances at the Fillmore were her first, and producer Jerry Wexler came up with the idea of using studio players in lieu of her regular band.

The first release from Neil Young’s long awaited Archive Performance series is Live At The Fillmore East. In 2006, Neil Young delivered another hit album, Living With War, and toured with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Thirty-six years earlier, in 1970, Young toured with CSN&Y and released his platinum album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, after which he performed a series of shows at New York City’s then-new Fillmore East with his band Crazy Horse. That concert finally made its official debut in the annals of rock history with Live At The Fillmore East, and the circle is unbroken for one of rock’s greatest singer-songwriters. The original release charted Top 15 and three Grammy® nominations, including for Best Rock Album.
