The first release from Neil Young’s long awaited Archive Performance series is Live At The Fillmore East. In 2006, Neil Young delivered another hit album, Living With War, and toured with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Thirty-six years earlier, in 1970, Young toured with CSN&Y and released his platinum album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, after which he performed a series of shows at New York City’s then-new Fillmore East with his band Crazy Horse. That concert finally made its official debut in the annals of rock history with Live At The Fillmore East, and the circle is unbroken for one of rock’s greatest singer-songwriters. The original release charted Top 15 and three Grammy® nominations, including for Best Rock Album.

Until now, the official recordings of Miles Davis' performances at the Fillmore East between June 17 and 20, 1970 have been limited to the double album Miles at the Fillmore. That set's producer Teo Macero, edited the recordings to create medleys of each night's music to four roughly 20-minute selections. This four-disc set contains all four concerts. There are 100 minutes of previously unreleased music from Wednesday through Saturday; an additional 35 minutes of unreleased music comes from a previous gig at the Fillmore West.

August 1969 to August 1970 was the most productive year of Miles Davis's career: in that short span of time, the trumpeter recorded enough material for his studio double-album Bitches Brew, a studio single album Jack Johnson, three sides of another studio double-album Big Fun, four tracks from the double-album Live-Evil. AND, across five nights at Bill Graham's famed Fillmore rock palaces in April and June of 1970, coast-to-coast at both the Fillmore East & West the complete, legendary concerts that will now see the light of day and be made available to fans in their entirety! When Sly & the Family Stone seized Manhattan's Fillmore East for a two-night, four-set stand in October 1968, the sonically and socially advanced band was just starting to cook. Earlier in the year, "Dance to the Music" became their first charting single, a Top 10 pop hit…

At Fillmore East is the first live album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band, and their third release overall. Produced by Tom Dowd, the album was released in July 1971 in the United States by Capricorn Records. As the title indicates, the recording took place at the New York City music venue Fillmore East, which was run by concert promoter Bill Graham. It was recorded over the course of three nights in March 1971 and features the band performing extended jam versions of songs such as "Whipping Post", "You Don't Love Me" and "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." At Fillmore East was the band's artistic and commercial breakthrough, and has been considered by some critics to be one of the greatest live albums in rock music. In 2004, the album was selected for preservation in the Library of Congress, deemed to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" by the National Recording Registry. Rolling Stone included at number 49 in their 2003 list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, describing it as "rock's greatest live double LP." The album was also included in the books 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (2005) and 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die (2008).

Live at the Fillmore East is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on February 23, 1999. The album documents Hendrix's performances with the Band of Gypsys at the Fillmore East on December 31, 1969 and January 1, 1970. It is drawn from the same performances as, and can be seen as an extended complement to, the Band of Gypsys album, consisting mostly of songs not on the original album. Continuing right where the seminal classic Band Of Gypsys left off, Live At The Fillmore East expands on the ageless classic. Features 16 stunning recordings, 13 previously unreleased, from the series of four New Year's concerts at Bill Graham's famed Fillmore East Theater.

Although the Move made barely a ripple in the U.S., they actually did a short tour in fall 1969, marking their only visit to the States. This double CD has live recordings made from their performances at the Fillmore in San Francisco on October 17 and 18 of 1969, most of them coming from the earlier of the two dates. Apparently its appearance was delayed for quite some time owing to concerns about its fidelity, but with the help of "advances in studio technology" trumpeted in the liner notes, it's finally been prepared in a shape deemed acceptable for release. Thank goodness it's passed muster, because the fidelity is more than acceptable, and it's a quite historically interesting document.

The four CDs in this Rhino Handmade set - available only over the Internet unfortunately - contains the complete concerts of Aretha Franklin and King Curtis' stand at the Fillmore West in March of 1971 (not February as identified on the original LPs). Franklin's performances at the Fillmore were her first, and producer Jerry Wexler came up with the idea of using studio players in lieu of her regular band.
