Francesco Corti w­­as born in 1984 in Arezzo, Italy, to a musical family. He studied organ in Perugia, then harpsichord in Geneva and in Amsterdam.

L'album raccoglie il meglio dei 28 brani portati in tournée dai due cantautori negli stadi italiani dal 16 giugno al 30 luglio 1979. I due fino ad allora insieme avevano inciso in studio solo un singolo (Ma come fanno i marinai/Cosa sarà) e si erano esibiti insieme dal vivo una sola volta, a Roma l'8 luglio 1978.

Quattro anni sono trascorsi dall'ultimo album in studio di Francesco De Gregori, "Per brevità chiamato artista", e dopo un paio di dischi live - tra cui "Work in progess" in collaborazione con il mai abbastanza compianto Lucio Dalla, l'amico di sempre - il «Principe» dei cantautori italiani ritorna nei negozi di dischi con "Sulla strada".

Tracing the overlooked movement of sounds from Africa and the Arabic world and their influence on European and American music, 'There Is No Other' illuminates the universality of music and the commonality of the human experience. It primarily features only Giddens and Turrisi playing one or two instruments together. The album comprises a mix of original songs penned by Giddens and a diverse set of interpretations ranging from Ola Belle Reed's 'I'm Gonna Write Me a Letter', and Oscar Brown, Jr's 'Brown Baby', the Italian traditional 'Pizzica di San Vito' to the aria 'Black Swan' by Gian-Carlo Menotti.

At 25, pianist Francesco Tristano Schlimé carries an impressive-looking artistic resumé with credits that stretch beyond the so-called “standard rep” and into composition, new music, and improvisation.

Goffredo Petrassi’s reputation was established in 1932 when his Partita (available on Naxos 8.572411) won critical acclaim. Petrassi then composed his Concerto for Orchestra, the first of eight, which, upon its 1935 premiere, secured his reputation outside of Italy.
