Duane and Gregg Allman found themselves in a host of other projects before the famed Allman Brothers Band began their ascent to success. This release is an album-length demo recording of a Tallahassee-basked folk rock band the 31st of February, which featured Duane Allman on guitar and Gregg Allman on vocals. While the 31st of February would eventually disband, this record is a rare insight into the early days of the Allmans and features the first ever recording of the song "Melissa".

Recorded at a small club called Uncle Sam's in Hull, Massachusetts, on July 1, 1983, the album features Allman and his band performing Allman's solo songs, as well as Allman Brothers Band classics like "Midnight Rider," "Dreams" and "Melissa," and renditions of favorites like "Trouble No More" and "Statesboro Blues."

Gregg Rolie became famous as the organist and vocalist for the Santana Blues Band, more commonly known as Santana. He sang in songs such as "Evil Ways", "Black Magic Woman", and "Everybody's Everything". He later became one of the original members of Journey, who stayed with the group until late 1980. It would be awhile before Rolie surfaced back into music but he released his debut solo album in 1985 on Columbia Records. Some of the guests on this include Carlos Santana (who plays in "Marianne"), Neal Schon (who plays in "It's Only Make Believe), Craig Chaquico (who also plays in "Marianne" and "Over And Over"). and Jason Scheff (who later replaced Peter Cetera in Chicago). This is taken from the official CD pressing in 2006 on Wounded Bird.

The second recording by pianist Bobby Enriquez is a crazy affair. Enriquez, who had the tendency to throw in an excess of silly song quotes, meets up with the equally crazy Richie Cole, and they bring out the worst in each other. With guitarist Bruce Forman, bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Shelly Manne keeping the proceedings swinging, Enriquez and Cole generally start out their solos well before getting bogged down in topping each other's absurdity. This set is not without interest, and some of the humor (such as Cole's "vocal" on "Wild Man Blues") works, but much of it is tiresome by the second or third listen.
