Groove Armada are one of the biggest selling and most loved dance acts, comprising of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, who have released 8 studio albums since forming 21 years ago. They’ve scored numerous chart hits including 10 UK top 40 hits including; I See You Baby (UK 11), Superstylin (UK12), If Everybody Looked The Same (UK25), At The River, Song 4 Mutya (UK 8), Purple Haze (UK 36), Get Down (UK 9). This 2CD release features all their hits, presented in a digi sleeve and includes new edits of Edge Hill, Suntoucher, Chicago and Little By Little.
Groove Armada's second album finds the pair expanding on the sonic range of 1998's Northern Star, spreading out to Franco-electronic pop ("Dusk, You and Me"), big-beat techno ("If Everybody Looked the Same"), and laid-back funk grooves (the masterpiece titled "At the River"). Though it often seems they're throwing change-ups more to show listeners what they can do, Vertigo achieves the effortless grace of a varied repertoire.
The soundtrack for About Time, the 2013 British romantic comedy from Love Actually writer and director Richard Curtis, dutifully reflects its story's time travel premise with a 17-song set of (mostly) previously released selections from the likes of The Killers ("Mr. Brightside"), Groove Armada ("At the River"), Amy Winehouse ("Back to Black"), and Nick Cave ("Into My Arms"). Ben Folds offers up a new, heavily orchestrated version of his sentimental 2001 ballad "The Luckiest," while ex-Dream Academy mastermind Nick Laird Clowes offers up a pair of wistful piano pieces ("Golborne Road" and "The About Time Theme") from his evocative score.
