Groundhog

Why aren’t all movies as good as "Groundhog Day"? Did screenwriter Danny Rubin know what he was doing when he wrote it? That it would star Bill Murray and become a hit? That it would become a touchstone for major religions? That psychologists would come to prescribe the movie to their patients?

A weather man is reluctantly sent to cover a story about a weather forecasting "rat" (as he calls it). This is his fourth year on the story, and he makes no effort to hide his frustration. On awaking the 'following' day he discovers that it's Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. First he uses this to his advantage, then comes the realisation that he is doomed to spend the rest of eternity in the same place, seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day.

Phil Connors, journaliste a la television et responsable de la meteo part faire son reportage annuel dans la bourgade de Punxsutawney ou l'on fete le "Groundhog Day" : "Jour de la marmotte". Dans l'impossibilite de rentrer chez lui ensuite a Pittsburgh pour cause d'intemperies il se voit force de passer une nuit de plus dans cette ville perdue. Reveille tres tot le lendemain il constate que tout se produit exactement comme la veille et realise qu'il est condamne a revivre indefiniment la meme journee, celle du 2 fevrier…
