Headcharger Against The Storm

AXEL RUDI PELL release their sixteenth full-length album entitled "Into The Storm", on January 17th, 2014 in Germany, January 20th in the rest of Europe and on January 21st in the USA/Canada via SPV/Steamhammer. The CD was recorded with engineer and co-producer Charlie Bauerfeind and features Pell alongside singer Johnny Gioeli, new drummer Bobby Rondinelli, keyboard player Ferdy Doernberg and bassist Volker Krawczak.

REO Speedwagon began to come into its own with its third album, Ridin' the Storm Out. Over the years, the record became a platinum-seller, due to the strength of their series of opening shows for more successful rock acts, but it originally charted at number 171. While the group still had elements of their bar band boogie, they began to streamline their approach on this album. Although it only resulted in one minor hit, with the title track scraping the bottom of the singles charts, the record was one of their most consistent efforts.

GHOST BRIGADE return to deliver a perfect lecture in dark melancholy and heart wrenching pain. "IV - One with the Storm" takes exactly those subtle steps ahead that makes the Finns sound exciting and fresh again. While their previous full-length "Until Fear No Longer Defines Us" (2011) successfully dwelled on the themes and ways established by the "Isolation Songs" (2009) masterpiece, the band understood they had to move on or fall into the trap of repetition. Sure, GHOST BRIGADE remain in essence true to the formula already established by their acclaimed debut "Guided By Fire" (2007), which amalgamates Post-Rock, Metalcore, Progressive Rock, Death and Doom Metal into a highly emotional musical experience. Yet the changes in their line-up can be felt such as new keyboard patterns by Joni Vanhanen. Adding to this, singer Manne Ikonen's hard work on his performance reveals itself remarkably in the enhanced clear vocal passages. "IV - One with the Storm" furthermore comes with a state of the art production by the band and Tuomas Kokko at Electric Fox Studios, Finland.
