The band has already released three records featuring many well-known musicians such as Henrik Brockmann (ex- Royal Hunt, Evil Masquerade), Kenny Lubcke (ex- Narita, André Andersen, backing vocalist of Royal Hunt), Göran Edman (ex- Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum, Brazen Abbot, etc.) and Nils Molin (Dynazty). The band is also the brainchild of guitarist, songwriter, and producer Luca Sellitto. Stamina‘s fourth and latest album “System of Power” is a colorful one.

STAMINA is a Kontakt instrument that is designed with the songwriter in mind. In a world where life is so busy it is often hard to think about details or choice, as your time matters. STAMINA is here to assist in those decisive moments, with its full-on melody sections and loops that are waiting to be explored.

“Acqua sporca” ripercorre le tappe che hanno portato alla nascita del caso Stamina e alla sua esplosione. Traccia i ritratti dei personaggi che hanno animato questa storia, racconta il ruolo poco chiaro della politica e il vecchio vizio italiano di usare il pubblico per godere di benefici privati. Il leitmotiv della storia, però, non è questo. È la grande guerra che su scala globale si sta combattendo intorno alle cellule staminali e al loro utilizzo nella cura dei malati. Una guerra di scienza, ma ancor più economica in cui a muovere le fila sono grandi companies e gruppi di pressione ansiosi di usare una tecnologia ancora immatura (le cellule staminali mesenchimali) per trarne immensi guadagni.

"Stamina" means as much as perseverance and is a fitting title for the debut album of Grand Couloir; having known and appreciated each other from long-term collaborations in other projects, they finally decided it was time they all did an album together. Keyboarder Volker Meitz, tenor saxophonist Dirk Steglich, trumpeter Christoph Titz, bassist Roland Fidezius and drummer Tilo Weber have succeeded in creating a highly individual sound that often seems as risky as playing with fire. „We recorded the basic tracks already prior to Covid“ Volker Meitz explains.
