Heavily influenced by Spock’s Beard, apparently, themselves heavily influenced by the likes of Gentle Giant, ELP, King Crimson, and Pink Floyd, No More Pain dwell in 60s and 70s progressive rock, with a modern edge to it. There’s nothing new that’s brought to the table here, nothing that’s a game changer, and they probably won't be very influential. That being said, "The Post Human Condition" is a great album for fans of the genre, and for those who actually like the standard prog rock formula.
While they use pretty much all common tropes of the genre and stick to the paradigm, it never (well, almost) sounds cliché or overtly retrograde…

"Sol Invictus" (Latin for Unconquered Sun) is the seventh studio album by American rock band Faith No More. It is Faith No More's first studio album since 1997's "Album of the Year", marking the longest gap between two studio albums in their career, and their first release on Reclamation Records. Sol Invictus is also the band's first album since 1992's "Angel Dust" not to feature a lineup change from after one consecutive studio album.

It was recorded in mid-1986 at Studio D in Sausalito, California and was produced by Matt Wallace, Steve Berlin, and Faith No More.

"Album of the Year" is Faith No More's sixth full-length release. It demonstrates the same kind of straight-ahead approach as its predecessor, „King For A Day“, but also contains plenty of surprises. The album was recorded entirely at bassist Billy Gould's home studio, and contains the highlights 'Collision,' 'Stripsearch,' 'Last Cup of Sorrow,' 'Naked in Front of the Computer,' and 'Helpless.' Despite the emergence of numerous up-and-coming bands that were mentioning FNM as an important influence, the bandmembers amicably went their separate ways upon the completion of their 1997-98 tour.
