One of the most brilliant cellists of his generation, Henri Demarquette’s career is intimately linked to contemporary music: the creator or dedicatee of numerous works, he is one of the favourite interpreters of contemporary composers.

Henri Crolla (born Enrico Crolla; 26 February 1920 – 17 October 1960) was an Italian jazz guitarist and film composer.

Whether he is scratching out the notes of old romances or tackling standards more seriously, Henri Crolla always does it with happiness. The tender guitar of the one who is then Yves Montand's regular accompanist does not sound like the others and exudes too much tenderness.

Having recently rescued veteran pianist Henri Pierre Noel from virtual obscurity, Wah Wah 45s boss Adam Scrimshire has uncovered another long lost LP by the man titled One More Step, and has now re-released it for all our listening pleasure. Originally only receiving a limited release in Canada, this sophomore LP dates from the early '80s and features 12 more diverse cuts including the borderline schmaltz of ballad "Will Come A Day" (rescued by stunning ivory tinkling), the frenetic Afro rhythms of "Roller Skate Rhapsody" and the accelerated Eurodisco gem "Funky Spider Dance".

A pop star who turned his back to show business to become an independent artist, steered by the revolutionary ideas of his wife Jacqueline in 1960’s France; these are the outlines of Henri Salvador’s unusual musical career. It made him into a star then led him to entirely dissociate from the record industry, preferring to make music in his living room with his guitars. At 50, Salvador starts experimenting with synths and drum machine, multi-track recorders and altered voice collages. He takes up editing and mixing, and solitarily makes songs for young and old from his home in Paris’ Place Vendôme.
