Tin Tin Deo is a typically tasteful set by guitarist Kenny Burrell. Performing in a sparse trio with bassist Reggie Johnson and drummer Carl Burnette, Burrell plays boppish and swinging versions of his own blues "The Common Ground," Erroll Garner's playful "La Petite Mambo," and six jazz standards. Nothing particularly surprising occurs but Burrell is heard throughout in above-average form and this release should please his fans.

This is a very different musical interpretation of Psalm 51 than we saw last week in Allegri’s Miserere. In Allegri’s composition the intensity of the soaring, unaccompanied voices lead us to contemplation of the Divine Mercy of God in Heaven. Here the urgent, dramatic orchestration pulls us down into King David’s turbulent emotions as he comes to acknowledge his sinfulness and his need for God’s mercy. This clip is only the first part of a much longer composition, and contains only the first line of the Psalm: Miserere mei, Domine, secundam misericordiam tuam, “Have mercy on me, Lord, according to your compassion”. As the focus of the Psalm moves from David’s sinfulness to the abundance of God’s mercy, the music in the later parts of the piece changes with it.

As always, the Canadian unit is led by founding frontman Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm) and producer/guitarist Jean-François Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index, Despised Icon), but this time, features the stylings of Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc.) on drums and Clemens Wijers (Carach Angren, Lindemann) manning the album’s intense orchestral score.

This recording is the concert performance from the 3rd annual Rivertree Singers & Friends Choral Festival. 150 additional singers from across the US and 5 other countries joined the 40-voice Rivertree Singers for 3 days to prepare and perform the southeast premiere of Dan Forrest's Jubilate Deo, a marvelous, culture-spanning setting of Psalm 100 that includes 8 language across 7 movements. Rivertree Singers was privileged to enjoy Forrest's assistance in preparing the second-ever performance of this major work.

Norwegian EBM pioneers Apoptygma Berzerk have announced a reissue campaign for their debut album, Soli Deo Gloria, with Artoffact Records.
Soli Deo Gloria was a massive hit for the band, and includes some of their best-loved songs, Including such classics as "Bitch", "Burnin' Heretic", "Ashes to Ashes", "Stitch"… Apoptygma Berzerk was formed in 1989 and has released six studio albums, several live albums and best of collections, and a series of experimental EPs. The band has played live on every continent in the world save Antarctica. Released as a CD digipak with seven bonus tracks!

Nearly 1,000 kilometres separate Holešov, Moravia, from Strasbourg, if one takes a detour through Mannheim. Franz Xaver Richter's professional journey started in Count Rottal's court orchestra in Holešov and ended in the prestigious post of Kapellmeister at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame in Strasbourg. He is primarily known as one of the major representatives of the renowned Mannheim School, with his "trumpet" Sinfonia No. 52 in D being a typical example of the late Mannheim form. The grandiose Te Deum, featured on the present CD, is Richter's second setting of the hymn and was first performed in 1781 in Strasbourg, during the celebrations marking the centenary of the city's coming under French administration.
