This historic show documents the first ever US tour by HP's founding members line-up including vocalist Steve Marriott, guitarist Peter Frampton, bassist Greg Ridley and drummer Jerry Shirley! Although consisting of only 5 songs, several of these performances get extended into improvised blues rock masterpieces conjured by some of the greatest musicians of the '70s classic rock era!

Each side of the original double album was different: Side One features Steve Marriott- penned Rock 'n' Roll; Side Two has classic R&B covers; Side Three is a collection of acoustic Steve Marriott songs; finally, Side Four features Humble Pie live in concert. This album showcases the dynamic diversity and talent of Steve Marriott's gritty bluesy vocals with some funky Soul mixed in throughout along with straight ahead blistering rockers. ‘On to Victory’ is the ninth studio album recorded by the English rock band Humble Pie and the first with a new lineup including vocalist and guitarist Steve Marriott, Drummer Jerry Shirley, vocalist and guitarist Bobby Tench from The Jeff Beck Group, and American bassist Anthony “Sooty” Jones. Marriott also brought in backing vocalists Marge Raymond, Dana Kral and Robin Beck, once again looking for a more authenthic and refined R&B sound and feel.
