Ivan Repušić made his debut as principal conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra in September 2017 with Giuseppe Verdi's "Luisa Miller". It was followed by "I due Foscari" in October 2018 and "Attila" in October 2019 (the complete recordings have already been released by BR-KLASSIK on CD 900323, 900328 and 900330). His successful cycle of early masterpieces by the Italian opera composer continues with the recent concert performance on April 23, 2023 of Verdi's stage work "I Lombardi" – also at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

Antonio Vivaldi (Venecia, República de Venecia, 4 de marzo de 1678-Viena, 28 de julio de 1741) fue un compositor, violinista, impresario, profesor y sacerdote católico veneciano del Barroco. Era apodado Il prete rosso («El cura rojo») por ser sacerdote y pelirrojo. Se le considera uno de los más grandes compositores barrocos, su influencia durante su vida se extendió por toda Europa y fue fundamental en el desarrollo de la música instrumental de Johann Sebastian Bach. Su maestría se refleja en haber cimentado el género del concierto, el más importante de su época. Compuso unas setecientas setenta obras, entre las cuales se cuentan más de cuatrocientos conciertos, para flauta, violín y diversos instrumentos musicales, y cerca de cuarenta y seis óperas. Es especialmente popular como autor de la serie de conciertos para violín y orquesta Las cuatro estaciones.

The women are impertinent, cunning and seductive; the men are awful, dirty and mean. The confrontation between them is at the centre of the plot; of course this clash is explosive. This opera is a real feast for the senses and the imagination. The staging is choreographic and follows the plight of the different characters. Each is attracted by and then put down by the others. The subject could be serious, and in a way it is; but Goldoni turns it into a richly humorous comedy about emancipation.
