New album by our most international jazz pianist. The album is a collaboration of the trio of Ignasi Terraza with the New York saxophonist; pureum Jin. Includes original music by the two artists. Ignasi Terraza is one of the most outstanding jazz pianists of the Spanish State with a great international projection. In 2009 he was awarded the first prize of the Jacksonville International jazz piano Competition in the United States; with an extensive discography covering more than 40 references published in our country; in France; in Switzerland and in Japan. He has accompanied figures such as Frank wess; Lou Donaldson; Benny Gold are; Jon Faddis; Jesse Davis … and in his trio he has had musicians like Bobby Durham; Jeff Hamilton; Gregory Hutchinson or Pierre Boussaguet. He usually performs on European circuits and has performed on tours in the United States; South America and Asia.

The Unusual Trio, explore the trio formation without bass, showcasing the powerful left hand of Terraza, the multi-instrumentalism of Cunningham, and a resulting groove , fresh and light, with a repertoire firmly rooted in the jazz tradition ranging from Swing to Hard-Bop.

Sant Andreu Jazz Band is a youth jazz band from Barcelona, 7 to 22-year-old children and teenagers. The band leader is Joan Chamorro. The band was founded in 2006 at Escola Municipal de Musica de Sant Andreu. «I learn every day from my students, who don’t stop teaching me that we have no limits, that we always can advance, that enjoying every moment we are unconsciously aware that the best is yet to come, but not because that we live waiting, because, once and again, we are in the best moment: the present.» –Joan Chamorro. This live recording brings together a selection of works from two concerts given at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid by Antonio Serrano, accompanied by pianists Federico Lechner (22 November 2014) and Ignasi Terraza (27 November 2021). In these recitals Serrano demonstrated his virtuosic mastery of the harmonica, an instrument that has played a hugely influential role in the history of jazz. The memorable music of two such significant composers as Cole Porter and George Gershwin acquires a new creative dimension in the hands of Antonio Serrano. Unfamiliar to many, the idiomatic potential of the harmonica is fully revealed in this recording, conjuring an unusual sound world that will transform the listening experience for those curious enough to dive into it.

However, Joan Chamorro, director of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, took advantage of the situation and recorded different rehearsals with small groups at the Jazz House, headquarters of the SAJB. They will be released as Jazzing 11 vol. 2 and Jazzing 11 vol. 3.Finally, it was possible to perform within the framework of the Barcelona Jazz Festival 2020, a concert that was also recorded and that will be released as Jazzing 11 vol. 4.

This new work, although it includes many vocal themes, also contains so many instrumental themes in which the increasingly numerous soloists of the orchestra have their opportunity to share their creativity, their ability to generate their own discourse, in a continuous evolution.

Trece años de jazz y 12 "Joan Chamorro presenta…”, en este caso a Carla Motis, que entró a formar parte de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band en el 2008, con 11 años, y que ha sido la única guitarrista que ha formado parte de la banda. A modo de Freddie Green en la bigband de Count Basie, Carla Motis, discretamente, durante todos estos años, ha dado un sonido especial a la sección rítmica. Su tiempo, cada día que pasaba, era más sólido, sus "compings” apoyaban a los solistas que iban emergiendo y ella se mantenía en un segundo plano, pero con una gran aportación rítmica y harmónica.
