The 1800s: scholarly Karl Schiller believes he's found the ring of the Nibelungen, which holds great power. It's at Castle Dracula. His twin, Franz, a gambler, asks if vampires frighten Karl; Karl shows him an Egyptian amulet, which may protect him. Franz takes the amulet and sets out ahead of his brother, arriving at the castle first. There he finds a countess who invites him to dine. Later that night, Karl arrives. Coincidently, it's the Night of the Virgin Moon, a night that falls every fifty years and draws five virgins from the surrounding village to the castle not be heard from again. Can Karl protect his brother, find the ring, and rescue any of the women?

The Garden of the Finzi-Continis/Il giardino dei Finzi-Contini (1970)

In the late 1930s, in Ferrara, Italy, the Finzi-Contini are one of the leading families, wealthy, aristocratic, urbane; they are also Jewish. Their adult children, Micol and Alberto, gather a circle of friends for constant rounds of tennis and parties at their villa with its lovely grounds, keeping the rest of the world at bay. Into the circle steps Giorgio, a Jew from the middle class who falls in love with Micol. She seems to toy with him, and even makes love to one of his friends while she knows Giorgio is watching. While his love cannot seem to break through to her to draw her out of her garden idyll, the forces of politics close in.

Несмотря на то, что добрая половина сказок, попавших в фильм, имеет отношение к сексуальной природе, все-таки не она является здесь главной. Пазолини совершил паломничество на Восток не только для того, чтобы экранизировать еще одну книгу о торжестве плоти, а еще и затем, чтобы отыскать там отношения, незапятнанные культом потребления.

Il titolo del film, Il ponte delle spie, fa riferimento a un ponte realmente esistente a Berlino, che un tempo univa la zona est e quella ovest, oggi noto come Ponte di Glienicke. Il soprannome gli viene dal fatto di essere stato spesso teatro di scambi di prigionieri tra i servizi segreti americani e quelli della Germania Est. Il ponte delle spie racconta la storia di James Donovan (Tom Hanks), un famoso avvocato di Brooklyn che si ritrova al centro della Guerra Fredda quando la CIA lo ingaggia per un compito quasi impossibile: la negoziazione per il rilascio di un pilota statunitense, Francis Gary Powers, abbattuto nei cieli dell'Unione Sovietica mentre volava a bordo di un aereo spia U2.
