Premiere CD release of stunning David Amram score for 1961 John Frankenheimer social drama starring idealistic Burt Lancaster colliding with violent gang of teenage street toughs. Shelley Winters, Dina Merrill also star. Superb Edward Anhalt script brings still-topical vibe to tense story. David Amram, composer of both orchestral, jazz works for symphony (and accomplished French hornist) creates powerful meld of both idioms, adds harmonica, guitar for moody main theme with Latin color, then balances with knockout action music for full orchestra. Amram goes on to score John Frankenheimer masterpiece The Manchurian Candidate as well as initial but never used score for same director's Seven Days In May. Jerry Goldsmith did the soundtrack to the 1974 movie QB VII. Originally released on ABC Records, this was remastered and reissued on compact disc in 1995 by Intrada.

World of then-high tech computers, soaring IQ's, secret codes and staff of crackerjack decoders captured by composer with meld of snappy rhythm, cool melody. Main theme, rooted firmly in major key, remains one of Goldsmith's most infectious. In balance is richly expressive trumpet line for more romantic side of tale. Mystery, suspense also plays solid role, especially in latter cues. Entire score presented from mono elements as heard in picture, courtesy Paramount Pictures. CD also offers cool extra treat! After exhaustive search, actual multi-track stereo masters for original 1968 Dot label album surface, courtesy UMG and Geffen, allowing first ever licensed release on CD. Stunning audio quality allows terrific presentation of classic record made by Goldsmith (and Dot producer Tom Mack) way back when! While a mere 25 minutes long, their album encapsulated major thematic material beautifully. And another extra!

Exciting Henry Mancini score finally gets released! 1981 action-filled Disney comicbook superhero tale directed by Charles Jarrott, starring Michael Crawford, Oliver Reed, Barbara Carrera inspires Henry Mancini to write one of his most exciting, energetic scores of his career. Mancini anchors with robust "Condorman" theme (including fun chorus), then tackles profuse action scenes with dynamic, propulsive action material for full orchestra. Powerful trombone lines, aggressive rhythms, fanfares for trumpets all get spotlight! Music for killer Morovich is especially aggressive. In contrast, Mancini creates one of his gentlest, most heartfelt pretty themes for Natalia, given particular prominence in beautifully-scored "Free Single Woman". Interestingly, due to licensing, not a note of this splendid score has ever been released before, not even as a single theme on one of the numerous Mancini compilations of the era. Now, through courtesy of Disney, Intrada presents entire score (plus several extras) in crisp, punchy stereo, direct from multi-track scoring session masters stored in mint condition in Disney vaults. Pure delight for Lalo Schifrin fans! World premiere of exciting soundtrack for Phillip Borsos crime thriller with Kurt Russell, Mariel Hemingway, Andy Garcia. Schifrin spins web of suspense, then unleashes wild excitement for full orchestra. Along way are detours into classic Schifrin jazz. Dynamic main title is one of several highlights, with scorching trumpet in lead. Haunting closing music ("Christine") also features trumpet. Composer wrote some 45 minutes of score with thematic development but also wrote over half hour of tiny fragments, transitions, stingers. We have assembled "the album" portion with maximum listening in mind but also include every short cue, fragment in "the extras" section of CD, plus roadmap in notes for those wishing to dispense with tighter album listening and instead program entire 77-minute score in sequence. Intrada was given access to actual 32-track digital session masters vaulted by MGM in pristine condition, allowing us to create brand new two-track digital stereo mixes of every cue!

Spectacular CD production, co-branded by Walt Disney Records & Intrada, offers every note of Barry's oft-requested score in stunning digital stereo from 32-track digital masters vaulted at Disney. Original LP offered 30 minutes of scoring highlights but new CD has every LP selection plus over 20 minutes of never-before released material, all newly mastered in true digital audio, playing in picture sequence! Exciting overture, swirling main title motifs are memorable but equally fun are numerous devices literally spotlighting favorite signatures of composer: melodic ideas played in one register by French horns, then another register by trumpets; massive block minor chords for suspense; repeating rhythmic ideas generating action; many other musical trademarks.

This album presents some of the all-time “classics” of the classical trumpet repertoire. After much deliberation on how, when, what and why, trumpeter Omar Tomasoni explains that two specific events convinced him that now was the time to make the recording: the birth of his son Siebe and the pandemic.
