is a comic book ongoing series written by Matt Fraction with art by Salvador Larroca, published by Marvel Comics and starring the superhero Iron Man. It won the 2009 Eisner Award for Best New Series. Thus far there have been 22 issues in this relatively new title, volume 5 in library terms, with the first two story arcs completed and and the third ongoing. The initial story arc, "The Five Nightmares" underscores Fraction's rehabilitation of Stark as a legitimately heroic presence in the Marvel Universe without simply setting aside the character history that has brought him to this point. Fraction's treatment of Stark's multi-faceted character is intelligent and adult, without sacrificing the sense of fun and energy that makes superhero comics thrilling to read. A heck of a great way to promote the movie, too. The almost epic second story arc, "World's Most Wanted", closely ties in to the then ongoing crossover storyline. The five-part third story arc, "Stark: Disassembled" is still ongoing (currently at part 3 with issue #22) and is set to end with issue #24 due for release March 3 2010. Along with Michael J. Straczynski's , perhaps the best of Marvel's current titles, with perhaps Marvel's best creative team on board. Gob Iron (British slang for a harmonica) is a side project for Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo founder Jay Farrar. Teaming up with his friend (and Varnaline front man) Anders Parker, Farrar has recorded an album of new takes on American folk standards. Also known as the folk process, these are old songs by the likes of Stephen Foster and The Reverend JM Gates which have been given new lyrics or new arrangements in an effort to re-interpret the songs in a fresh way. Recorded over the course of just two days, Death Songs For The Living represents two craftsmen stepping out and taking a chance on some of the music that they hold most dear.
