Istanbul - this is one of the most beautiful cities of Turkey. Istanbul is located on the crossroads of two continents: Asia and Europe. This is the one city in the world, which for more than two millennia has been the capital of two world empires.

I Hear Music is an intimate portrait of the cultural shift in Istanbul from traditional to modern, told through the stories of three street vendors when their work suddenly becomes illegal. Halit has been selling home-made stuffed mussels for 20 years; Ismet has been coming and going through the same neighbourhood since the 50s with his freshly-made pastries; and Yasemin walks the streets with her bundle full of bedspreads and curtains. All three face relocation and competition from modern shopping centres and commercial brands in the midst of gentrification.

THE EYE OF ISTANBUL tells the story of Ara Guler, the legendary Armenian-Turkish photographer, through a culmination of his retrospective exhibition in Istanbul. As Ara selects his photographs, the stories behind his most iconic images spring to life. At 87, Ara is a complex and unforgettable character; he is still sharp, irreverent, funny and philosophical. Although he is mostly recognized for his black and white photographs of Istanbul, he has enjoyed an international career, which has spanned over sixty years and has generated more than 1 million photographs.

She visits the restoration of the 6th-century Basilica Cistern, a marble-columned water reservoir under the city's streets, Topkapi Palace, and Europe's largest wooden building, Prinkipo Orphanage, which was once home to more than 1000 children.

Francesco’s Mediterranean Voyage is a BBC Television documentary series first aired in 2008. It follows Venetian architect Francesco da Mosto as he follows the historical trading route from Venice through the Adriatic Sea, Corinth Canal, Aegean Sea and the Dardanelles to Istanbul. This route was taken by, among others, his ancestor Alvise da Mosto. Travelling as a member of the crew of the schooner Black Swan, along the way he stops off at the ports that were visited by the earlier traders and were in many cases part of the Venetian Empire.
