1988 sophomore release (produced by Steve Hillage) from this British Art-Rock/Prog-Pop quartet fronted by Francis Dunnery. Unlike the U.S. version, which was released only as a vinyl EP, is the original album in it's entirety (including the bonus track 'Hunting the Whale'). Harder than their debut, this album showed a far more imaginative band creating a unique sound as they combined elements of Hard Rock, Prog and Pop. Includes 'Kiss Like Judas', 'The Old Man And the Angel', 'Yellow Christian' and more.

Although he plays guitar exclusively on two of the eight selections included on this CD reissue, it is Toots Thielemans' harmonica playing that is most unique. He holds his own on a hard bop blowing date with baritonist Pepper Adams, pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Wilbur Ware and drummer Art Taylor, jamming on such songs as "East of the Sun," "Struttin' with Some Barbeque" and "Isn't It Romantic." Even four decades later, no jazz harmonica player has dethroned the great Toots.

Steven Wilson fans have been primed for The Future Bites since he released To the Bone in 2017. That record, and the preceding 4½ EP, were deliberately "pop" responses to his three-album dalliance with prog – Raven That Refused to Sing, Hand. Cannot. Erase, and Grace for Drowning. In contrast to the above, The Future Bites is a slick exercise in Wilson's oft-articulated love of synth pop and electronic music. It's a loose concept set about the treachery that rampant consumerism foists upon the world, and the danger a technological society imposes on personal identity…
