BEST IN SHOW is NOT a 'Best Of' or compilation album, this is their seventh studio album and it is, hands down, the best since their debut. The album was released on July 31, 2012 simultaneously with Up to No Good, the second album from Nigel Dupree Band, fronted by vocalist Nigel Thomas Dupree, the son of Jackyl's lead singer, Jesse James Dupree. In honor of Father's Day, the first singles from Best in Show and Up to No Good, titled "Screwdriver" and "Tumbleweed", respectively, were issued to radio on June 17, 2012, with an add date at radio of June 26, 2012. This album is the essence of biker rock, capturing rock and roll at it's best,it's an album for everyone.
Jackyl were always an anachronism in the '90s. Arriving at the peak of grunge, the group – whose members worshiped at the altar of AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, and David Lee Roth – managed a minor hit with the novelty "Lumberjack Song," basically because some listeners found Jesse James Dupree's chainsaw solos kinda neat.
In retrospect, Nevermind may seem a little too unassuming for its mythic status – it's simply a great modern punk record – but even though it may no longer seem life-changing, it is certainly life-affirming, which may just be better.
"Push Comes to Shove" is the second album by the American hard rock band Jackyl, released in 1994. They still borrow heavily from AC/DC, but this time its not as blatant. The songs are a little more distinct, as opposed to the first, and the lyrics are more original.
If, as Howard Hawks said, a good movie consists of three great scenes and no bad ones, it could be extrapolated that a good record contains three great songs and no bad ones – in that case, Weezer is a record with at least six or seven great songs and no bad ones. That makes for a great record, but more than that, it's a great record emblematic of its time, standing as one of the defining albums of the '90s.
"Cut the Crap" - 3rd studio album was released in 1997 and benefited from two industry heavyweights overseeing its recording: producer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) and mixer Kevin Shirley (silverchair, Aerosmith). This album spawned the rock radio hit “Locked & Loaded,” which included guest vocals by AC/DC’s Brian Johnson. It was the first time Johnson had ever recorded with any artist but AC/DC since he joined the band 17 years earlier.
There's little argument that Slash is a great guitarist, capable of making rock and blues clichés sound fresh. On his solo project, Slash's Snakepit, he plays a lot and most of his playing is quite amazing…
