Jacob Artved is the youngest of a very talented new generation of Danish jazz guitar players. At the age of 20 he has already been a working musician for years, being introduced on the scene by Danish guitar legend Jacob Fischer at the age of 15. He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music as the youngest student ever, but chose to drop out, move to New York and spent the long nights jamming instead.

The contemporary jazz scene in Denmark is currently made up of a vast array of talented and dedicated young lions. Jacob Artved, in no uncertain terms, is at the forefront of the movement and the moment.

The making of this album has felt like the one constant since the pandemic started, and it has been a source of tremendous source of comfort, frustration, wonder, and growth for both of us. We made many trips up to the Catskills to record in the basement studio of Griffing Jennings, soaking up the mountain views and starlight. Now it’s here, and I’m feeling the inevitable grieving that comes with finally releasing a project into the world. It was such a labor of love, and I hope that you can spend some time with the work we created.

Multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, producer and 2-time GRAMMY winner Jacob Collier has unveiled a new single, music video and the release date for the second volume of his highly ambitious new project. Djesse – Volume 2 will be released June 28 via Hajanga Records in exclusive license to Decca/Geffen. Djesse is a new work of 40+ new songs that is being released over 4 volumes of new music over the next several months. Djesse – Volume 2 finds Jacob continuing his thrilling exploration of different musical worlds. Where Volume 1 (released in December) found Jacob delving into the limitlessness of orchestral music, Volume 2 focuses on the intimacy and closeness of acoustic music. Djesse - Volume 2 will feature a number of collaborators from across genres and generations. Jacob welcomed artists including Lianne La Havas, dodie, Oumou Sangaré, MARO, Sam Amidon, Kathryn Tickell, and Becca Stevens into his singular musical world, and more will be unveiled soon.

With over 25 albums to his name and numerous awards and accolades from international press, Danish pianist/composer Jacob Anderskov is recognized as a transformative force in contemporary music.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Niles’ interest in folk music began when he was a teenager. He took a job with the Burroughs Adding Machine Company in 1910 in eastern Kentucky, which peaked his interest in Appalachian musical traditions. He left his job in 1917 to enlist in World War I, and after being injured in a plane crash, the government helped fund his studies in Lyon and then Paris.

Going to saxophone shops is a necessary evil of being a saxophonist. I don’t like doing it, or to be more specific I don’t like doing it when there are other saxophone players there. Going to a saxophone shop in New York City promises to be an adventure, especially when it’s one of the more popular ones like JL Woodwinds.

Jeffrey Jacob has been described by the Warsaw Music Journal as “unquestionably one of the greatest performers of 20th century music,” and the New York Times as “an artist of intense concentration and conviction.” Mr. Jacob received his education from the Juilliard School (Master of Music) and the Peabody Conservatory (Doctorate) and counts as his principal teachers Mieczyslaw Munz, Carlo Zecchi, and Leon Fleisher. Since his debut with the London Philharmonic in Royal Festival Hall, he has appeared as piano soloist with over 25 orchestras internationally including the Moscow, St. Petersburg, Seattle, Portland, Indianapolis, Charleston, Saõ Paulo, and Brazil National Symphonies, the Silesian, Moravian, North Czech, and Royal Queenstown Philharmonics and recently the London Symphony, New Jersey Philharmonic, The Cuban National Symphony, and the Royal Scottish National Symphony.
