James are an English rock band from Manchester, who were formed in 1982 and enjoyed popularity throughout the 1990s. The band's best-known singles include "Come Home"; "Sit Down"; "She's a Star" and "Laid", which also became a hit on American college radio. Following the departure of lead singer Tim Booth in 2001, the band became inactive, but reunited in January 2007 and has gone on to produce a further six albums. James's hit single "Come Home" was voted the greatest ever Manchester anthem in a radio poll. Live performance has continually remained a central part of the band's output. As of 2010, the band had sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. Collection includes: Stutter (1986); Strip-mine (1988); Gold Mother (1990); Seven (1992); Laid (1993); Wah Wah (1994); Whiplash (1997); Millionaires (1999); Pleased To Meet You (2001); Hey Ma (2008); The Morning After / The Night Before (2010) 2EPs.

Filmed at Broughton Hall Estate in Yorkshire earlier this year, the EP features uniquely intimate versions of three tracks from James’ latest album, All The Colours Of You along with the classic Just Like Fred Astaire, taken from their 1999 record, Millionaires. Tim Booth says “The beginning of the new James 9 piece began at Broughton Hall. The sessions there felt magical. This is a slice of the magic that we created around a campfire one evening…”

MP3 CBR 320 | 20.7 GB (approx 150mb per album) | Hit & miss artwork included

I have a collection of 135 titles (142 CDs) issued by Goldmine/Soul Supply record company. This is not a box set but rather it is a collection of albums that are similar in that they all are rare soul compilations by the same company. There are some tracks that are on more than one album but considering the scope and magnitude of this collection, the number of duplicated tracks is small. Some CDs have good artwork, some have none, most have some artwork of varying quality. All are 320 CBR MP3 and are fully tagged. Original post now has added CDs.
VA - Going Back: A Collection Of Rhythm & Blues/Soul Harmony Sounds... (2000) {Specialty} **[RE-UP]**

VA - Going Back: A Collection Of Rhythm & Blues/Soul Harmony Sounds From The Galaxy, Fantasy, 4-J, Riverside and Specialty Labels (2000) {Specialty}
EAC Rip | FLAC with CUE and log | scans | 227 mb
MP3 CBR 320kbps | RAR | 162 mb
Genre: doo-wop, R&B, soul, rock'n'roll

What unites these 26 tracks? They're all black vocal group sides from 1960-1970, originally released on the Galaxy, Fantasy, 4-J, Riverside, and Specialty labels. That might be a fragile thread to tie a compilation around, but basically it's a way for Fantasy, which now distributes Specialty, to round up a bunch of doo wop, R&B, and soul rarities that it has license to. It's an agreeable though not great listen, illustrating in a modest way the transitional links between doo wop and soul music.

Jim McCarty is a legendary Rock 'N Roll guitarist who has a deep passion for the Blues. This album captures McCarty playing "live" impromptu jams with Blues greats Duke Robillard, Jimmy Thackery, Johnny A, John Nemeth, Jason Ricci, John Badanjek, and The Millionaires. Besides his signature Les Paul Gibson, McCarty, plays SG's and Telecasters. Styles range from jump-to back alley-to slide blues. He's plays in duo, band, and big band formats. This CD shows sides of McCarty not previously captured. It's a showcase for his passion, skill, and depth as a Blues guitarist! James William McCarty is an American blues rock guitarist from Detroit, Michigan. He has performed with Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels, the Buddy Miles Express, Cactus, The Rockets, the Detroit Blues Band, and more recently, Mystery Train. Since about 2014 Jim McCarty has joined forces with Detroit blues guitarist/songwriter Kenny Parker in The Kenny Parker Band along with several other veteran Detroit blues/rock musicians.
