For American Grammy and CMA nominated singer/songwriter James House, there was life before Nashville. House is best known as a country star for his three hit Nashville records, recorded for MCA and Epic Records in the years spanning 1989-1994 and his Song Of The Year nominations for the likes of Dwight Yoakam (“Ain't That Lonely Yet) and Martina McBride (“A Broken Wing”). But before that, James House was a rocker, making his solo debut on Atlantic Records in 1983 with an acclaimed self-titled record that featured James co-writing the album's 9 songs, plus a young Alan Pasqua on 2 co-writes. The album featured a superstar lineup including Jimmy Haslip (Blackjack), Mike Baird (Journey, Rick Springfield, Van Stephenson), Alan Pasqua (Giant), Rick Derringer and more. For whatever reason, it was never released on CD, with fans demanding its release for years.

Nashville-based blues singer-songwriter, James House, blends the sounds of blues, Americana and rock to create tracks that highlight his songwriting and musical talents. James has written songs with Grammy nominated artist, Joe Bonamassa (including Bonamassa’s latest song “Redemption”), and Beth Hart, Diamond Rio, Dwight Yoakum, Martina McBride, Rita Coolidge, Rod Stewart, The Beach Boys, Lisa Hartman, Fiona, and more.

Over the past 15 years, I have focused my musical career on scoring soundtracks for movies and television; and while it has been creative and productive, I have missed the pleasure and inspiration of performing and recording improvised music. Then two years ago, out of the blue (not blues…), I got a call from an old high school friend, Mervon Mehta, the musical director of the prestigious Koerner Hall in Toronto, asking me to perform in his 2017 Jazz Trio series, opening for the Christian McBride Trio. Although hesitant at first, being very busy working on films, I started to embrace the idea of getting back into performing, putting a trio together, and creating a repertoire for the concert.

Singer-songwriter James LeBlanc was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. James picked up the guitar at age seven, inspired by his father James Sr. By the time James was 18, he knew he wanted to make a life and living in the music business. After many years of struggles, trials and tribulations, James finally got an opportunity when he was “discovered” by Rick and Rodney Hall. They were and still are the proprietors of FAME Enterprises in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. James signed a production agreement and a publishing contract with FAME. Soon thereafter, he began getting songs recorded by the likes of Martina McBride, Bryan White, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Thompson Square and more. James co-wrote the hit song “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde” for Travis Tritt.
